Standard or Uprated suspension?

Postby bristol_fez on Sun Jul 15, 2007 4:05 pm

I have a fiesta SI 1.6 which i am currently using for my daily runner to work which is about 20 miles round trip.

i noticed when checking the suspension recently that the rear shocks were leaking slightly and as my MOT is approcing they will need changing.

what i want to know is should i go for standard shocks and maybe get some fiesta centre 25mm drop springs to go with them or go for a spax, gmax budget type kit, there is no point in investing in koni's etc as the car will be sold in the new year.

any advice/horror stories welcome :)

cheers

G-Max = Crap

If you know you are going to move the car on in 6 months just pop some new standard dampers on the back. Having aftermarket suspension won't make any difference when it comes to sale time and in some cases can put people off

like oranoco said avoid g-max. they have a rather nasty habit of destroying themselves.

either way unless your going to turn it into a bit of a track day toy you dont need to have uprated anything. just replace everything that needs replacing with standard genuine items and sort out any rust spots.
