Struggling With Insurance Please Help!!!
Hi all can i start off by saying, my car is'nt strictly a ford, its nearly there (mazda121 --Thats what you get when some one offers you a free car!!!) any way iv got it lookin pretty nice with the complete Zetec exterior, recaro interoir, sound system and LED's wired in. But the only problem is (even without declaring mods) at the age of 18 (first car) i cant get a realistic quote im getting nearly £3500 every time. Its only a 1.3 and i have no points or convictions. Can any point me in the right direction (Ps i also have pass plus, does bugger all though)!!

Wouldn't let that bunch of clueless morons insure a toaster never mind a car
Absolutely Amazing comment!
Elephant were shocked that I had 3 mods lol!
I have a mk3 fiesta, with suspension, bumper, interier, ICE, Exhaust, light and brake mods and they are fantastic. They dont add a single 1p, but dont realise if you claim they only cover the original specification of the car... but my slant to it is that it's unlikely for a car to be stolen or set on fire.. Touch wood!
I know it's a bad theorey, but insurance is great. My 1st year at 17, no NCB, and all mods was £1400.

Adrian Flux, and make sure you declare everything!
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.

Factual comment to insure a modified car with any Of the ADmiral group of insurers you would need your head reading. The bit I have highlighted is exactly the reason why the insurance is completely worthless. If you have a non fault prang your insurer will only persue the replacement of standard equipment. This means if you have a set of 18" split rims on your 1.3 HCS all you'll get back will be a 13" steel with hubcap. Cheap cover does not equal good cover and if you can't cover the car properly then you shouldn't build it in the first place. I really hope you don't need to claim as you will then realise how poor your judgement has been

I hold my hands up and agree.
But from a 17 year old I Had to, to afford it for the 1st year. My insurance is up for renewal in Oct so I will be looking at companies where I can declare everything!
My problem is I have little interior and exterior mods which dont touch performance in any way or form. but as i declare MORe than 3 mods, the isnurance companies either have a really huge price or wont insure me.
Any recommendatinos to any insurers which dont come down like a tonne of bricks?
Scott.

6 point roll cage, 260bhp absolutely everything declared, agreed value of £6000 and my premium is £440 Fully comp with an excess of £25. I knew there had to be some bonus to being 31
