stupid woman tried to run me off the road!

Postby jayrs on Sat Jun 06, 2009 9:00 pm

today while going over to see my parents i was following 2 cars, it gets to a point of the road you can over take safely and easy do a couple cars, and thats what i done, whacked the blinker on, dropped it down and went for it, all's well untill the stpuid c*nt bit ch in the car im over taking then decided shes going to over take the car in front of her and just swings out
if she indicated or not i dunno as i was basicly along side her at this point, she was driving a mitsubishi galant estate and my front bumper must of been half way up her drivers door when she pulled out, so shows how far into the over take i was.

apart from the noise of my car when you boot it, she didnt hear me, nor did she me :-? , she didnt look other wise im sure she would of seen a bright read car coming up along side her....., anyway i had to bank it to stop being hit, and hit the horn.
the pic shows how far it went, i know it didnt bank it much, but about 4 inchs further in and it goes right up, meaning it could of been nasty.

how the RS didnt get any damage i dont know, ive checked it all over, everything is fine, which is the mian thing, but the woman had the nerve to try and drive round me when i pulled in down the road :x , and then follwoed up with

"why were you trying to go round me when i was over taking"

WTF

then

" why would you even try and over take 2 car"

again, WTF

needless to say i gave her some $hit and got her number and off she went, she did call me later to say she called the police that basicly said, no ones hurt, no cars hit so we aint interested, which i knew they would say anyway, but it was left to contact her next week for insurance details as she was off to the mainland, but i let her know no damage was done and case closed.

but it winds me up, due to some stupid b1tch not paying attention to whats going on around her on the road she could of caused a nasty accident, i know some people will prob look at the pic and say i shouldnt of been over taking and all that crap, but the roads longer than the pic shows

anyhow, red dots shop where my wheels went, dont look much, but you wanna see that bank in the winter when theres nothing but short grass :oooh: i was lucky!

red dots span for 100ft approx

no damage just plant marks

Been their done that drive you mad :x . Glad cars ok though.
I had the same only she auctually hit my passenger door I was far enough ahead to proove it was her thought. she deneid responsability  I got paid out though.

Today I was also nearly wiped out, at a roundabout. Car in turn left lane waiting to pull on, car in straight on middle lane, indicating left me approching roundabout in straight on and turn right lane. (Women unknown to me) in lane one (turn left only lane) decides "no IM going to turn right". Guy in lane two trying to go left swerves right to avoid her. I mean while have drawn level unaware she has pushed him towards me. (Ive looked to check no vehicles from my right. He stomps on breaks barely missing me and barely missed by her. I'm commited so as I see him I floor it to get clear. Only to then find this women cutting across me. She then crapped it and swerved left. With me giving her, a not so nice qesture before composing my self and slipping into 5th gear. She pulled of round about behind me and the guy had to do a lap of the roundabout to get where he wanted. WTF.

Are they giveing away Licenses in cereal boxes again

next time pull out, toot your horn before overtaking then overtake :bonkers:

jesus mate, i had to read that twice to get the jist of it

the woman that nearly took me out did point out there was no witness as the car that was leading fcuked off the other way, mind you a clapped out white standard R5 in that part of the isle of wight, i could find easy as its more than likly the only one
but i did point out to her i was near enough fully along side her, and i did ask, "why would i try and go round you why your over taking when there would be no road left for me"...
i didnt get a answer, all i got was "well im sorry but i was over taking, it was lucky no one was hurt" blah blah blah then told me insurance would put it down to knock for knock, which tbh if i did try and claim it would poss come down to it, although had she hit me, she would of been bang to rights as it would of got door, well, tbh the whole side of the car!

ah well, i can laugh about it now, i really wish someone had it on camera though, would be good to see it, all i saw was bits of plants flying about, and once back on the road looked in mirror to see a massive cloud of dust and her still half way out over the white line

I had one like that. I had to make a choice use centre reservation as ramp smack into back of transit van or go off road. I chose the off road route only to find a sign post. swerved o s**t found tree, swerved. Now driveing though headlamp high follage. managed to keep car going. Got back to carriage way. Put hand brake on jumped out of car STILL MOVEING and ran at the prate in transit who had stopped and WAS OUT and yelling Im sorry Im sorry he then ran away around the back of van. I sundenly calmed down think his histeroery brought me down to earth. I breathed and told him he was lucky, we was all ok my G/F her freind me and most importantly at the time my 7 year old son. I took his details incase their was damage to vehicle, then got back to my car and got it of the road. I then took pics of car and retraced the cars foot steps. :x scary it was. I didnt even see the pond the girls thought we was going to go In (I new where I wanted the car to go and was just working the throttle and steering and clutch to get it their) Then I found that the cars rear left wheel had actaully dropped in a ditch then the bit I was dreading I missed the post by 15inches from tyre track so from bumper was so close. You see tyre tracks straight at it (with its target centre of car) then swerve left and then swerve right again to avoid a tree. I was doing 55mph in cloudy but not dark with side lights on when the van driver looked at me and pulled from my right. not to right hand lane, not to left lane but the bloddy middle of road. Apart from removeing follage for about six months and my passengers being scared s**t. I had the best addrailine rush of my life.

Yep this same thing has happened to me a bunch of times, unfortunately people seem to completely forget to look over their shoulder to check their blind spot when preparing to overtake, they just glance in the mirror. No good if you've already started to go/there's a motorbike there!! Dumb people :x

Glad you got off ok though.

Reading what you say about the road, Knowing the road is great as you can know where is safer / can see the road ahead. However holiday makers do my nut in, as people like to come round the attractions in yorkshire going stupidy slow and then watching out for attractions instead of road now that can be a right hazard.
Anyway glad car ok, grass bankings can be a right killer, because can just look like flat surface but are actually full of banks and potholes.

With three tokens from specially marked bokes of kellogs cornflakes and an SAE, it would seem.

Part of the problem IMO is that people indicate at the same time as moving out, instead of indicating, then checking it's safe to go before making the maneuver. The failure to make the second check means the people in front won't see the indicator prior to your moving and the people behind won't know it's not safe to go round either - they do the same thing (indicate as they move out) it will lead to incidents like this. In other words, the bad practice affects everyone at once. :x

I see this sort of thing an awful lot on the motorway and it never ceases to amaze me how close people come to having accidents by not being aware (or making others aware).
Nothing to see here...

ive seen it happen to other too mate, and that bit of road, is great for over taking and everyone does it, what is stupid is when people try and do about 3 or 4 cars, or leave it too late, cos at the bottom theres a very slight dip where the road goes down a little, dont notice it when driving but its enough to make the road look clear when in fact a car is just on the brink of cracking into view, ive seen some close shaves cos of that.

and i hear you about holiday makers, forget 1 way systems over here when the summer is here, you MUST look both ways, i almost got tw@ted a couple times in ym parents village due to some pr1ck coming along the 1 way road the wrong way, and he was clearly speeding (30 zone).

i shouldn't really speak of the dead, but a woman i knew from may parents village died on the road, not the one pictured, but same stretch, about half a mile/mile further on, came round corner too fast, rode up the bank, flipped it on roof and died at the sence, ok she didnt have a seta belt on so we told and was in a convertable mini (old mini too) but the point is the banks round here are 1 of 3 things, flat but grass and weeds making it look higher than it is, a ramp type bank, or basicly like a wall!
the worse are when the bank changes to all of the above along the lengh of road, which i have to say, is in fact how the bank goes along that give bit of road i was going down at the weekend, which is what made it worse, i did think to my self at 1 point, 1, bumpers gunna be fcuked, 2 $hit, this is gunna be game over in a sec.

lucky i was wrong on both counts.

although i was doing nothing wrong and no harm was done to me or the car, or anything/body else, it will make me think twice before over taking stupid fcuking woman along that bit of road

Thought of an occasion where it's the person behinds fault - when people sit up the arse of a van/lorry and then overtake said van/lorry. He can't see you or your indicators to know you've gone anywhere!

Used to really annoy me when I used to drive a tranny, and it pisses me off when I see people doing it now :x

Raining this morning so used the car for school run pulled onto mini roundabout at end of my street, to see a red nissan micra appear from my left speed round bend towards us. I'm in Rear wheel drive on slippery service so cant boot it. His breaking and skidding I pulled to wrong side of road for him to finally stop next to me. If I hadnt have seen him. It would have been TO close to call. Whether he would have hit me or not. Hope it scared his jungle arse and he thinks twice about speeding in the wet :)

trannies, my mate has one and i have to say when ive been in it with hi9m ive seen first hand how people ride the ar$e of it  why i dunno

speeding in the wet, mate, some people stick to a given speed, i.e the speed limiot in any conditions unless a sign tells them other wise, its like they dont have a brain, cos it says 30/40/50 etc, they think no matter what the wetaher come rain shine or snow they can do that speed

christ, scary isn't it? You had a lucky escape there mate, glad the RS escaped damage...

I had someone overtake me while I pulled over yesterday - wouldn't have cared ordinarily, but the reason why I pulled over was the f**king huge ambulance with lights and sirens on haring up behind us. She pulled out in front of it whilst it was at full pelt, and it nearly drove into her (right next to me :x ). How you miss something that's 12' tall, with flashing blue lights and a f**king loud siren that's right behind you I don't know...

She got so much stick from everyone on the road

Glad the Car is OK, some people just don't think anymore in this country!

I say they should change the Highway Code to the Law, like in Germany. The German's have it sort when it come's to road use and law, I love driveing over there. I love the Lane Discipline they have over there, no slow idiots in the middle or fast lane!
