Postby zetecrs on Tue Feb 04, 2003 12:35 pm

Hello hope someone can help,
I have a 1.6 zetec turbo (k+n air filter/dump valve,ss exhaust) the car will start and tick over fine but when you go to set of it tries to stall before launching into life (sometimes does it whilst driving car will hold back then go) i've replaced fule pump, plugs and leads and used cleaner to de-carb inlet manifold but no joy..anybody got any idea,if i folow haynes manual its saying vaccum leak at inlet manifold? thanks in advance

When you say sensor problem it could take me down many routes (theres that many sensors i've got them coming out of my ears haha) i was thinking of changing all the sensors but that could be costly,do you know of any good performance tuners within south yorkshire area that would take a look?...
As for bhp i've no idea but its pretty quick, only running 7psi but stil good fun...thanks

Is this something you've just bundled together or was it working fine until this point?

i used to have the same problem as you got, but i found out that last time i have changed the exhoust to a strait pipe i have taken off the lambda sensor in the exhoust, and the same problem you have was in mine too.

so i found that i have to plug agian the lambda sensor and then it rans fine.

zetecrs - you say you altered co - so I take it you're not on zetec management anymore.

Try the throttle position sensor and the speed sensor on the gearbox

plastic elbow joining the fuel pump outlet to the outlet pipe (inside the tank) if you altered the co by turning up the fuel pressure its more than likely ging to be this. :) and yes its a nightmare job

Do the engine work myself are you mad,i can't even change a spark plug without causing a problem hahaha LOL... A place in doncaster (RS Center) did all work and its going back for some pampering..lower compression boost upgrade and final going to sort out the stuttering problem (i can't wait) I will be sure to post a note on this site when its repaired with exact figures as im not sure what bhp shes running at moment...
