Sump plug fitting

After draining the oil and getting a new sump plug, the old sump plug had just one metal washer with rubber inner but the new one I got from Halfords has this AND a red washer. Do I need to fit the red washer aswell?

I should add, the fiesta is an RS1800 if that helps.

Well, if that was me, if the original plug setup worked o.k, id just refit the plug as it was originally. If your not sure (like im not,lol) ring Halfords & ask them about it, they should know as you bought it from there.

fit it with the red ring as well.. its just a fibre washer :)

Jay, What does this fibre washer do? Prevent oil leaks?
