I thought a chip was instead of a remap, seems strange to chip it then remap. I may be wrong.

I have never heard much about chips reducing engine life, I suppose pushing it harder will reduce engine life, but that goes with all tuning really.

most chips come with a base map pre installed. like the 195 chip, its programmed 2 work with beiges, pump and uprated actuator

but to get the best from a chip, you need 2 map it 2 your exact engine spec. but then you really only need 2 do that with big power turbo engines

a chip on a puma engine will probably raise the rev limit etc

any mod will decrease the life of your car as you are changing the running of it a chip will allow you to raise boost ie making the turbo/ engine work harder so there fore logically they will get worn faster but it just depends wot you do and if you do it in the correct way....

as said the chips are meant to run with certain things they are premapped you may aswell lob the chip an get it remapped to the filter and valve... but personally if i were you i'd get the correct parts to go with the chip and then run the chip its alot easier...

The 2 chips you are on about are the same......

Bluefin,

is a handheld device that allows you to upload and download the chip via the handheld device (it also doubles up as a fault code finder)

Std Superchip,

is the EXACT same chip program but plugs into bottom of ECU
