update

i made a start on it today by getting the wiring loom in and pritty much done that just a few earths and lives to connect

once the new engine is in

i plan on starting the engine swap tomoz after work as i have friday and sat off work to get it done

i hope to get the old engine fuel tank pipes out tomorrow and start friday morning on getting the new engine in

hopefully i get it done friday night

finished work early today at 3 then got home and got started on removing the old engine

within in an hour the old engine was out was still warm when itook it out

fitted the new engine and starting putting bits on

so tomorrow i still need to

weld exhaust to downpipe
fit fuel tank pump and lines
finish wiring
finish the plumbing
find and fit aux belt
fit throttle pedal

startedb today by fitting a standard airbox

sorted the missfire with some new plugs and runs spot on

and it goes well will be plugging it in to the diagnostics at work on

monday to make sure everything is ok

exhaust got welded and is quiter with the zetec

only had a problem with an oil leak which was coming from the sump

all sorted now

will be tidying up the engine bay tomoz

they worked great with the 1.6
but arnt that great with the 2.0

have some focus brakes to go on which are big

also found the arches i want as i need to extend them

as my front wheels rub the arches still

they are mcr mk1 fiesta arches im sure i can adapt them to fit

yeah it was a bargain mate, get all that lot for 205 delivered, when the chargers go for 250 on their own

im justa rattle numbers at you, then you can decipher them, its 1uzfe, r154, and z32

the mr2 turbo was actually very dull, so building an engine over the next xx months then fitting it to something

get yours charged mate, you wont regret the noise and power they make

its now been a week since i fitted the 2.0

has had a few little issues such as an oil leak and the fuel doesnt work properly

still not fixed


but the worst problem is i think the bottem end is knocking as it doesnt sound to nice when idleing

so will be after another 2.0 as it will be easier and cheaper to bung another lump in

a little update

have tidied the engine bay

and the engine is fine turns out its not bottem end

also sorted the oil leak was crank shaft seal wasnt cheap either from ford £45 with fitting kit

today i borrowed my neighbour supercharger to test fit it on the escort

as it will be similer to the charger im going for

the one in the pics is a mercedes clk supercharger i think trying to get him to sell but he loves it


so far i am going to mount it at the front of the engine as that is the easiest place to make it fit

i will need to modify the slam panel move the rad forwards to enable as much space as possible

might have to modify the exhaust but will see as i will be fitting a 4 2 1

i think it looks awsome

once i am back from wales will try again to buy this one if not will get off ebay etc





also found a set of discs that have four holes and sit further back than the focus discs

so i only need to space the caliper 5mm rather than 13mm
