update

i purchased a mk4 escort lx for £100 which has been sat since 2001 with a 1600 cvh engine in it

which was quickly fitted in my car :devil: :lol:

and now it goes so much better

will b getting the bike carbs on there asap and a ashley 4 2 1 exhaust and some sort of cam :-? :-?

fitted the brakes off the mk4 but the disks are a bit warped :bonkers: :(

also sprayed the inside of the doors matte black

and yes i know the grill is missing :) :x

Mate I love your approach towards the car. Everything you have done to this car has been spot on (and your old one), spending little amounts and getting good gains. My word of advice is to treat any rust now, before it becomes too late! I will be watching this thread :) :wink:

Do you need to buy a k&n or have you got one coming?

If you need one, I think my mate has one brand new somewhere you could have off him (its the bolt on type - for like the HCS carb/EFI unit.. which is the same as what goes on the CVH engine yea?), i will have to check though. Last i heard he wanted £30 for it.. I could buy it off him for £30 and post it to you for free if you wanted it and if he still has it.

Just an idea :D

got it on a ramp the other no signs of rust anywhere :D :D

will get treated to some new paint underneath in the summer :)

only rust is on front panel which needs replacing anyway

and will also be getting new wings and bonnet

now have brand new indicators as my old ones were 2 different colours :lol:

not sure what colour to do rocker cover though

i have now made an inlet manifold using a mfi inlet manifold and cutting the top off

but now need another set of bike carbs as these are beyond repair :cry:

so if anyone knows of a cheap set of bike carbs for sale let me know :D
