So glad you're re-shelling it all into another body and keeping it - I love this car

have now made a start on the escort

has been sat in the garage for the last 2 weeks

so far the engine is out and most of the front end is stripped

will be stripping everything off for the new shell


when i get the new shell next weekend

i am going to treat the new shell with underseal

and i am thinking of seam welding it aswell


will be fitting a supercharged 2.0 blacktop with st170 gearbox

tbh it wont take much effort for someone with the right tools and time to sort it

the shell 90% stripped now just the rear end and fuel tank to remove

the new shell will be ariveing next weekend

the plan is to take my time with it and do it properly

the new shell turned up today

all be it with a bit of damage due to the monkeys i sent to pick it up

dragged it onto the truck

wont be using them again

other than that im really happy with it

needs a few bits doing but atleast its straight

and a big thanks to rhinopower for it and nomad for the st box

i was told he was taking a couple of mates with him not a kid and a baby

when they dropped it off me a couple of mates lifted the front and they were going to let it drop off the truck

started on it today

first i had to get it rolling so i could turn it around as it was facing the wrong way in the garage

then stripped the front end down

needs a bit of attention in a few places

but other than that the shells in very good nick and straight

battery tray is solid no rust underneath

i am now on the hunt for a 2.0 zetec blacktop so i can get the mounts sorted in the engine bay then sort the rust out

then paint it
