started the day by getting a new grinder which didnt work
so had to take that back and get another one

was pissing down all morning so got on with mounting the charger

this is only the mock up mount to but will redo it so its looks better

will also get some spacers made up aswell

fits really well

then remebered the lower sub frame bracket

which is close but clears


then went to trhe scrappy and got a rear mounted alternator off a mondeo

also grabbed the tensioner to see if that would fit aswell


got the mounts awell

is a mondeo engine mount

and focus gearbox mount

so got back and fitted the alternator

the tensioner is close aswell but fits

next update will be at the weekend when the mounts get welded in

I had a Mondeo mount once, but I didn't use it. It is a softer grade rubber than the Focus mount due to the fact the mondeo relies on more mounts in total than the Focus.

are you sure the 2 sections welded on passenger side are strong enough to hold up a gearbox/engine under load ?

or are you going to strenghen the 2 pieces with more box section metal ?

going to be making 2 angled pieces that will be welded on to go down to the chassis rail

excellent idea though,

why dont you make four triangular pieces? the two opposites going away from the top of the supports, and then two headed down to the chassis?

well the escort is in storage on my neighbours garage for a while

as busy doing other stuff and with moving to a new unit at work dont currently have enough time
and the fact i cant be arsed to do anything in the cold

currently have this in my garage




my mates mk1 polo which has just been painted
so im doing the engine swap

got to take the old engine out then its off to get the bay painted

then a 1.3 gt engine is going in

then once thats done got to get the fiesta in to put the 2.0 in


got these for the escort




need to start saving for st driveshafts and a clutch and fywheel at £500 +

doubt i will start on the escort till the end of january
