Supercharging Or N/A for more Torque ??

Postby Wooshy on Fri May 13, 2005 9:40 pm

Okay when i get my 2.0 i want some a bit special, okay a feista with a 2.0 will be special. Im not looking at Turboing it, as no offence every man and woman has a turbo nower days under their bonnet. I wanna get more Torque, rather than BHP, and also a more linar (sp?) power curve, so whats the best way to do this ??
How much would i be looking at to N/A, the 2.0 ???
Are there 2.2 stroker kits or anything like this ????
How about supercharging ????
I mean are there superchargers out for the Zetec ????
If so how much, and i dont want supercharge any car for 60 dollars crap, i mean a real compressor.
thanks for you help

Throttle Bodies mate, will cost u around the price of a turbo and give you the same sort of power, but all there, all the time :P

Dunno about that, Xfactors 2.0L Zetec had loads of work including big throttle bodies and that was only 170bhp or so. Even a low pressure turbo would do better than that.

maybe so but how many supercharged feistas you saw ??
also a supercharger gives better accleration from corners as you dont have to wait for the turbo to spin up, there for the roads id be "Driving" (like a mad man of course  ) it would have more advantages for me, im not saying a turbo wouldnt be cool, cuz it would be great, and would decimate all around by me.
Of course N/a would be okay too, i mean if they dont do supercharges thats no problem ill just stick to N/A but as i said gotta be diffrent ! :D

supercharging wil give you more torque than N/A, and should give a nice 50 bhp increase with most kits on a standard engine

you can get all of the characteristics you want with a correctly spec'd and mapped turbo engine

but you can have absolutely any engine spec you like, but unless its a common spec'd turbo noone can give you a price
