Postby jonboisescort on Tue Feb 23, 2010 5:03 pm

as some of you know im planning on supercharging the escort

its a 2.0 zetec using fiesta si loom and deep ecu

but have a few questions ??

1 what sort of boost can i run on standard internals??

2 can i use the standard managment to run it??

3 will i need to change the injectors?? if so which ones??

i do plan to lower the compression and change the managment later on

would like to see what sort of power i could run on standard managment

should run 6-7 psi on it ok with no mods, from what ive read it works difrent to a turbo so is more progressive and wouldnt reqire as low cr as a turbo does!

edit so question

1.... 6-7 psi
2...... yes
3 ....no- you wouldnt find a sutible set on that management and rail ether!

you picked which charger you will be running yet ?
as boost levels will be dependant on heat, smaller chargers work harder to produce the same boost so create more heat, making det more likely.
You gonna be running an intercooler ?
If i was you i would, and am. sort of :bonkers:
there is a basic fuel upgrade from kenne bell, which a lot of the guys supercharger the lexus V8 use, give it a search as it will help with fuelling till you get it all upgraded :)

i hear water injection helps to reduce intake temps if you don't have an intercooler or plan to use one. using aftermarket engine management would probably be better as obviously the standard ecu can only handle so much lol. running aftermarket like megasquirt would help to get a better idea on what the engine is like after installation of the supercharger and therefore you can get it custom mapped to be suitable to run with the supercharger. i take you planto get a 4 branch manifold as well as that will aid with the new forced induction!!
