superchip problem?

superchip problem?

Hi guys, ive just brought a superchip but its a few years old. Will it not work aswell as a new one or shouldn't it really matter???

don't see why that should make any difference as long as its not damaged and works properly, theres no reason why it shuldnt be as good as when it was new! :D

Shouldnt see why not, the standard chip in your ecu has gotta be over 10 years old, and im sure that still works fine.

When i had my chip in my 16v 2i the drivability of it was improved as well as performance :wink:


it didnt run any better in traffic though, mine idles perfectly with or without the chip :-?


is yours not running good when you stop in traffic? :-?

it idles fine, its just when im drivin slow it tends to jerk alot. if the chip doesn't sort that out then i suppose l'll change the spark plugs. Does anyones else's jerk when they drive slow?? (and its not because it mite b in the wrong gear :lol: )

2i engines dont like it when you move along in traffic at low rev's, and tend to judder if your in the 1200-2000 rev range

yeah thats true, i have to change down gears all the time. Hopefully the chip will improve its drivability a bit in low revs.
