Superchips

Postby RosscoPeeco on Thu Jul 29, 2004 2:11 pm

Ive heard that the connectors can burn out or something and cause the ecu to fry is this true?

Something similar happened to me with my Powerchip i got from PTS and i had to get another ecu.

Just miss not having a chip specially as the t3 is laggy without it. Also is there [ERRR] companies that re-con your ecu's?

Thanks

I think it would be VERY expensive to get your ECU re-con'd.

Must admit i have never heard of plug in chips causing ECU's to "fry". I have been running my Superchip for about 50k miles and have had no problems with it :)

Could have been a bad chip just waiting to go and short. I get that at my work, with a wee bit of heat they go and brings down everything else and increases current ........ frying time!
But as i said i have never heard of it on a plug in chip for a car.
