suspension and tyre rubbing
I have fitted the gaz coilovers on my car, never had any problems with my spax shocks
Now the problem, on the left side the wheel is rubbing the coilover, and the right side has 3 cm of space between them
Fitted another rearbeam and still the same, looks straith imho
Now a friend of mine had a frst with the same problem on the same side
Is it a fiesta problem or just bad luck ?

Re: suspension and tyre rubbing
I've never had this problem on any of my mk3's using std, gmax, spax or AVO's. Never had a set of Gaz's so can't comment on that.
However a couple of things I can think of off top of my head...
Try the 3cm gap wheel on other side does it still have same gap?
- if so then one wheel is the wrong offset.
Is the tyre on the rubbing side slightly wider or has a rim protector lip?
Do the wheels fit all the way flat against the drums?
- if not check there isn't a shim stuck on one of the drums still or the ones in the wheel is wrong I/D for the car, or other side is missing.
Are both shocks rotated the same way (adjusters facing inwards or outwards)?
Are all the necessary bushes fitted top and bottom to the shocks present and seated/aligned correctly?
Are the shocks designed for mk3.5 instead as think there may be some differences at rear (definitely true at front)?
Are both drum hubs mated flat to the beam, are they tightened and not hanging a bit?
Should give a few things to consider at least, let me know how you get on.

Re: suspension and tyre rubbing
I've heard some shocks needed to be rotated 180 degrees to clear the wheels on the rears?

- Wheels are the same, i have replaced them from one side to the other
- no shims or similar used, drums are removed and fitted with rs2000 discbrakes. Custom made spacers between the axle and hub. Also straith, no diffrence in the size
- The adjusters both facing inwards,
- it's a fiesta mk3 rs1800.
- all bushes are fitted in the shocks and on top, axle ones are also brand new
The problem was also present with the spax shocks, but the are not that massive as the coilovers. so i didn't have the problem ( only that the tyre was falling in the arch. other side is straith with the arch )
If i remember correctly.... is have rotated one of the shocks.
can't remember if there was a diffrent size of space in the mounting places
