Suspension Question

Postby mikeysabes on Tue Dec 05, 2006 12:42 pm

Morning Dude,

just got a small one to ask you,

regarding suspension,

is 60mm to low to go ?

ive been offered a kit, shocks and springs brand new

but there 60mm,

i dont plan on going any bigger than 15", keeping with my 15s i have now, or want the escort gti 15s, and ill be running on 195/40`s,

at min my tyres are 195/50 though

will this be ok ?

or even better, if any one has got a 60mm drop, can ya post a pic ;)

60mm is far to low from a driving point of view. It throws the geometry out and the ride/handling and grip all suffer as a consequence.

I changed from a 60mm drop to a 30mm drop and the car is a million times better and has also gained mechanical grip and certainly gives better driver feedback now.

ebay!!!
-60mm is cool for looks, just not for tyres or driving.
buy the kit for 70, get some -35mm springs from say ebay for 55 quid (fiesta centre [ERRR] i love em  ) and flog the -60's to me for 30 quid lol

LOL

it is g-maxx

had them on my escort and they didnt actually seem too bad,

if i can get some Spax at a reasonable price id prefer to go with them,

unless ill be ok for a few weeks/month on standars shocks

is it vital i change the suspension when the 2 litre goes in ?

Definately buy the SPAX at £250.

Wouldn't even use G-Max to line the inside of my dustbin. Dangerous shoddy tat :x

NEW standard dampers with a 30mm spring kit actually works very well indeed.
