T2 Boosting Problems

Postby project_mistral on Tue Aug 21, 2007 4:33 pm

Have a slight problem with the way my turbo boosts on the car.

It very slightly lags a bit then spins up very quickly and makes a sharp curve up towards 14/15 psi but then drops off too quickly to around 11/12 psi.

The turbo is fitted with a bleed valve and uses a forge actuator, this boosting problem became apparent when the car was on the rollers last week, and compared to DaveB_lives on here, who uses a t2 produsing 16 psi but fitted with an amal valve, the lack of boost at full throttle is causing the power to drop of badly.

By fitting an amal valve will this help or even solve the problem? or have i overlooked something??

other info if needed: on beiges with a 195 superchip(or phase1 as im told its called), running an escort cosworth pump, standard cam.

cheers dan
