T3 conversion question

Postby jammy86 on Thu Nov 25, 2004 6:17 pm

When you upgrade to the T3 turbo, from the standard T2, should you change the amal valve too? Anything else that should be swapped over from the escort?

Thanks

So they are using an engine with no amal valve. Whats the reasoning behind this? is it so that the engine will allow the excess boost? If so is this safe?

Thanks

lots of people dump the amal valve and just run a pipe from the actuator to the compressor housing and just adjust the actuator untill the boost pressure they require is met. i thought the amal valve allowed the turbo to get upto speed a little ealier as it was like a electronic bleed valve :-? i could be wrong, mine is long gone so the memory is a little grey :bonkers:

hmmz..

I just used the standard amal valve.. just rewired it to the left side..
and fixed it to the master brake cylinder using tie-wraps..
