T3 exhaust question!

Problem or technical question?

T3 exhaust question!

Postby Dave_B on Sat Apr 13, 2013 11:20 am

I'm looking at going for the t3 route on the fez, my question is can I use my existing exhaust system and just change the downpipe?
Or are the exhaust systems totally different and need a new one?!?

you can use your system just change the down pipe but if its just a change of turbo you might get away with changing the flange and not the full d/p ,,iv a zvh so i had to make a full downpipe

As already said, easy to make, cut the flange off the t2 down pipe, offer the exhaust up and mark where the t3 down pipe needs cutting, cut it, and weld the flange from the t2 pipe on, leave enough on the t2 flange as it has to be welded back on at a slight angle to marry up 100%

When I did mine it was done the same as mentioned above cut the t2 flange off with an few inches of pipe mark up the t3 down pipe my t2 pipe just about slid inside the t3 pipe this way when we mocked it up we could twist either end to get in to fit 100% also makes it a steady join
