T3 or not T3, that is the question!
right im in a dilema with which route to take the rs down now.
basically i have been using the t2 hybrid on its limits and it has finally given up. the turbine housing is cracked, which i can replace but is quite costly for a new one. having spoken to a few turbo specialists, they basically say go down the t3 route as the turbo is more common, reliable, wont be being used on its limits etc etc.
my problem is that i like the fact my little t2 is producing 200 brake and a shed load of torque, and also the fiesta rs in my eyes, always had a t2.
also what other problems do i encouted changing the turbo, new manifold, downpipe, boost hoses, can i keep my chargecooler?
any t3 bay pictures would be appreciated and also other peoples opinions.
it does mean that i could run an external wastegate though
cheers

Just get one I guess, Not sure though
Get a proper intercooler too, Simpler
Why would you want an external wastegate?
What can the internals of your engine take?

i thought you was going gt?
anyhow, if your going T3 and want least lag as poss, stick a std t3 and a std cam or cvh34.
you would need to mod the intake pipe on the chargecooler
thanks

the reason for an external wastegate is because there so loud!!
gav, yeah a standard t3 would be good enough/ stage 1 360 bearing etc.
my problem is what exactly needs modifying? surely i wouldnt need to change my chargecarrier as this already links directly to the charge cooler, but what about the turbo to chargecooler, how i need to see some pics of a set up properly.

my t3 is snugg! ive got a metal guard protecting the rad though, not a mm to spare!
my only gripe with having a t3 is getting the engine temps down, performance wise i cant complain

Re: T3 or not T3, that is the question!
not really fella, think i am going to keep the t2. the cost of trying to find all the pieces needed for a t3 conversion far outweighs the cost of buying a new exhaust housing, or a decent second hand one.
but having said that, i have done no more about it! i am going to have a look at robs t2 and see if that will do the job.
need to get a generator round to my garage to sort out the valence and then im away!!
