T3 with a .63zorst houseing 55 trim cut back blades Q's
Basically ive just bought a stage 3 hybrid t3 with a .63zorst houseing 55 trim cut back blades, and was wondering...
when should i be expecting this thing to start boostin and actually come on boost with a 2ltr 16v engine?
what kind of boost is it capable of running on a regular basis?
how long will it hold the boost for (round the top end of rev range) ?

That's a fair size exhaust housing mate, it really depends ona lot of factors - ideally you want to be looking at a compressor map and working out a spec for your engine. To generalize that sort of spec will be enough for well over 300 bhp. I personally would have stuck with a .48 ex housing.

.36 (escort turbo standard) .48 .52 (rare) and .68
The cut back blades reduce back pressure a lot and are a good mod. most standard turbo's run 50 trim wheels (escort etc)
In answer to your original question about boost threshold it really depends upon the cams mate, being a williams I should imagine they're quite wild so you might want to sonsider some standard 1800 cams or even 1600 on the exhaust side to get things going. I wouldnt like to guess but an esimate would be around the 2700/3000 mark. However it has the capacity to flow some large CFM so peak power will be as high as your engine can go

yep, definately in agreement with Mark here. Cams do goven alot however as a base a .63 will be more laggy than a .48
If you have a decent spec of inlet and exhaust cams things can be tweeked to accomodate for the extra lag you would experience when using std cams. This is not the only factor that is associated with this as there are other elements such as manifold header design etc that when combined will make a diffierence in the whole picture.
To give you an example, my first zetec turbo engine had a .63 housing however less lag than most zetec turbo engines running a .48 exhaust housing.
Thanks - Sunny.

Do you have any idea what 178.8mph feels like in a Fiesta? 2000 lb of pressure per square inch per second pushing back on your face. It feels like god himself is trying to rip the skin off your skull while someone lands a 747 on your chest.

I love the way most people spend ages saving for a Zetec Turbo conversion and Sunnys about them as if there like a common bowl of cornflakes or summat great stuff.

not much use as mine was ona 1600 8v, but i had similar spem mate and mine would kick on full boost about 4k but start spinnin about 3-3.5ish kinda thing.
i blew that up thou, well oil return split lost pressure and cooked the turbo, so got a stage 2 with smaller zorst housing and that span up alot quicker and was far better. any way not being much use so i'll shut up
