Postby chris-fiesta on Fri Dec 08, 2006 11:06 pm

been offered r1 carbs for decent wedge but not too sure on the results as most ppl have gone with gsxr tbs.

anyone no what the r1 carbs are like on the zetec and is it tru that thye are easier to set up than tbs?

To be honest mate carbs can be made to produce just as good results as TB's, otherwise why would the "big 4" bike mfrs have used them for so long??

I personally would go for a set of bike throttle bodies instead though as they are more easy to set up for a car engine, zetec with lower st170 inlet manifold for example and the fuelling parameters can be much more precisely set up with megasquirt or omex etc.

bike TB's Are also loads cheaper than the likes of jenvey, lumenition etc.

If you're determined to stay with the R1 carbs though apparently Bogg Brothers can fit/set them up a treat onto car engines and there's no reason they won't perform as well as TB'S with the right expertise in setting them up...

Good luck with the car mate.

well it is bogg bros that recommended me going for the carb set up and can build me an inlet to suit!!

came across a set of Honda Blackbird CBR1100 XX Carbs, but will these be any good?

Dunno, I'm sure they would work a treat though as the Blackbird certainly isn't shy of power is it?! What size are they? I'm sure Bogg Brothers must have fitted blackbird carbs to something before...

Its gotta be better than blowing a month+'s wages on some jenveys etc which would only give the same results, I know i've been there!
