That wire going to the fuel pump, it will be for the stop solenoind if i remember correctly. And when i did my conversion on my escort, i also had another solenoid on the side of the pump, that was for the cold start and when it wasnt wired up the idle was terrible, and kept stalling.

:)

My fooking update for today is.....

The belt is timed and the car is home!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Yes I have finally found someone to do the cambelt and time everything up! Towed the car back today, I'm going to get some power into it, fit everything back together and prime the turbo.

Then fingers crossed it will start :-?

Main thing im worried is the Fuel pump.....hopefully everything ive done to it means it will work :-?

SO! Work begins tomorrow morning :D :D

Cheers

yes, lets hope the fuel pump has been sorted (they should of timed it up with a dial gauge when they did the belt) otherwise having all that off again will take you back to step 1

got a little list of what actually needs doing?

well the fuel pump was dialed up as far as im aware....

I just mean changing over the Fuel shut off solenoid....as long as that is wirking and i dont have to do anything else for the pump to work

To Do List.....

    Fit water pipes,
    Fill with water/antifreeze,
    Block extra pipe,
    Fit rocker cover,
    Prime turbo,
See if fuel pump works and pulls fuel through the filter,
Maybe change the complete filter system (as i dont think it works ),
Get some fuel lines as a couple are stretched/broken,
Fit exhust, cut and weld downpipe,
    Fit said downpipe............

soo not alot really before it gets up and running....IF everything works

TD thrash

Right well, it cranks over but there is no fuel getting to the engine.

Im going to go out tonight and buy a new filter and hand pump that comes with it...if that doesnt bring the fuel up then expect questions in the Tech section

Right, thought I would revive this one from the dead.

After hassles with the car, working s**t loads and even more hassles with women. I have finally got myself in a position with loads of money and no woman to waste/spend it on.

This has given me new incentive to get the car on the road and drive the fooker again!

So, firstly I am going to buy a new solenoid and hand primer pump and then follow some advice thankfully given by Excursion and hopefully it will run...If not then I have a new pump ready to go on and we will see if that does the trick!

If it does then I will be able to crack on with the following,

sort and fit exhaust and downpipe!
then I can fit my new adjustable suspension
my new lower arms with poly bushes
    finish refurbing my wheels

then it moves on the bodywork!

Weld and spray the drivers door,
    spray the new bonnet,
refinish my sideskirts to remove the holes where they were screwed on

and depending on how far I get I will cut up and prep my front bumper for the intercooler and pipe that up, also get that sprayed!!!

only then will I be able to get the tax and insurance for it....

...all for the 13th May

Wish me luck, and pic updates over the weekend! :D

it undoes flywheel bolts, crank pully bolts, and diesel injectors without hesitation! Its made by standard power

OMG your still around :bonkers:

 no, its got this eco-guard stuff on it. I think thats what its called. Its meant to be laid over earth, then filled like it is in the pictures. Then theoretically the grass grows through it and allows you to park on it with out it sinking.

But my car has been parked on it so long I think it has killed off any chance of the grass ever growing again.

Really need to get it off for the spring to give it a chance to seed up again :)
