teamSPB Corolla (R32singh's install)
Hi everyone, new car in the workshop today...Toyota Corolla with a supercharged engine :clown:
The plan is to have a loud and very clean sounding system...similar to the focus but on a louder scale!
After being ripped off by many places...Jazz dropped his car off to me and was very cautious about what im doing with it which is understandable after the state the previous installer/s left his car in...ill let the pics do the talking...
Split charge relay - 8g input from bat...0g output...this was to run 5k of power...
sat nav installation in glovebox
foot well
xover installation
i know space is tight...but come on...
amp install
under carpet to the brain
took me 3.5 hours to clear the car out and strip it of the cabling!!
The plan has been decided of;
Alpine D310 + nav
Massive Audio 400.2
2 x CDT CL62's in front doors in custom pods
SPLD D7s (or D5s)
AA SMD 15"...if things go to plan...will be the first in the country officially to run the sub)
custom box
lots of sound deadening (second skin Damp Pro)
4 batteries
uprated alt
now the car has been FULLY stripped of seats, carpets, cabling etc...work can begin on the new install
car stripped of as many audio bits as possible...
rear 1/4s now fully deadened
Front doors are half way through getting deadened and will be finished tomorrow...also tomorrow the boot will get done in one extra layer (already dynamat xtreme on there) and the roof will be done...its amazing how tinny this car is as standard!! it takes the pi55 LOL!
Jazz...i hope you'll be happy with the work and know what im talking about when i was explaining the 'mess'

Re: teamSPB Corolla (R32singh's install)
completed the sound deadening today so all the rear 1/4s, front doors and roof are now down
quick pic of the roof
it used to flex alot before so trying my best to stop it...unfortunately due to budget constraints we could only manage around 2 layers of damp pro over the roof...even covering the sunroof catridge with a layer as its really flimsy as standard
had a chat with jazz today and decided to keep what wiring i could and change what was essential...so things like the 0g and pods etc will stay and things like the split charge relay, speaker cable etc will all be renewed...when phase 2 comes into play (with the SMD or the Mayhem) then we will look into changing the door builds for proper items, and little neatening touches like flushing tweeters into the a pillars etc etc
amp arrived today for the front components - Massive Audio P400.2 class a/b amp which will be delivering 2x400wrms @ 2ohms for the 2 sets of CDT CL62's
unfortunately i wont be able to work on the car tomorrow but on thursday ill get the amp wired up and all the speakers in with all the wiring etc...wire up the new split charge system etc...then time to fix the headunit mess!!

Re: teamSPB Corolla (R32singh's install)
right, update time...the car is complete and jazz has taken it home grinning all the way i expect as when i played it the smile continued to grow and grow as the volume went up and up lol...told you the cdts work amazingly well didnt i jazz
few pics
MDF mounting base for alpine brain
cables all layed down...notice i didnt use my usual cable ties and fixings...this was due to the floor having an oily resedue and the fixing wouldnt stick down so i had no choice but to use carpet tape...either that or leave it how it was before :O LOL
cdt's in - one is at a 90degree angle due to the poorly made door pods allowing the speaker terminals to hit the doors...the only way around it was to offset one for now
everything in
seats back in and job done!
the tweeters have been screwed onto the a-pillars for now while jazz sources another set of a pillars and door cards so i can build on them to mount everything properly and more flush
apart from that, the front end is playing awesome and recieving 400wrms x 2 off the massive amp
phase 2 to follow in the next few months
