The Fezz is back on the road , again
When i got hold of my Standard FRST nearly a year ago now all i had in mind was doing a t3 conversion
but as soon i thought of that i was already driving to my local ford dealer and buying a full gasket set and got hold of a stage 2 T3 from CR Turbo's .With help from a friend i was also in posession of a stage 3 head with kent cam, 195 chip beiges lalalala and the rest
All i wanted was a quick car with minimal fuss !
The engine was built and in the car and the running in miles where racking up, the MOT ran out 1 week after the engine was built so i put i through its MOT . The next day i had a couple mates in the car and was giving it some up a local dual carrage way hill when i heard a bang ! The oil light came on and the car was splutting and miss firing for fun managed to get 300 meters along the road where the car stalled and the damage was clear !
ROD SNAP= HOLE IN BLOCK AND A WIPED OUT ENGINE !
The only damage i done to the top was a little bent exhasut valve, so i managed to get one , it was a bit scabby but came up well with some TLC as you can see in the pictures
So back to drawing board, so after x-mas i started thining about what i wanted to do.
I could not go wrong with a bullet proof bottom end for starters so thats when i made the choice to go for a set of fardon rods with ARP's and a set of 81mm accrilite pistons with standard C.R , i didnt want it to be to laggy as the turbo is quite bad already
I mangaged to get hold of an other block and crank and the re-build started.
I wanted the best bits money could get with reason, so i also managed to get a full set of ACL heavy duty main bearing and big end bearing from specialist engines who sent them out and saved my life as no-one could get them to me when i wanted.
I got a re-grind and polish on the crank and a balance to make sure everything is good to go.
The block got a re-bore and a nice honning from a local enginer (mike @ ratt racing )
The it was a case of sticking it back together
The new engine is only on 30 miles so i have a far bit to go.
