Mikee_RS :have u gone for the mk3.5 fuel flap??
the hole on the rear 1/4 looks bigger then normal
Well spotted yes i am going for the mk3.5 fuel flap. Just a wee change that should hopefully keep out any water in the future and prevent the usual rot.
heeman10 : i kind of like the 2 tone .... well actually 3 tone, metal roof, hint of red then black. New trend in paint anyone ?
xr2imetalhead : it is as close as i can get to a new RS Fiesta, since Ford arent building one

Complete and utter respect to you mate for doing this.
Just seen the pics you posted up last year with all of the panels off
Like you've said, if you're gonna do it, do it properly.
Good luck with the rest of the resto and engine rebuild?

A wee update .... i was speaking to Alan (bodyshop owner) and he was showing me the wee jobs that need to be done. Them and the major panels should equal a FRST still going for another 16 years
New boot floor ....
New front .... (well some of it!)

heeman10 :Someone's nicked the back of your car! Do you anticipate it being ready before June sort of time?
The new rear was only on for sizing up, like the new front. All the panels need painting before final fixing
Why do you ask about June ??

Not sure, as i still have the new engine to get built and with working offshore and abroad i cant make definite plans unless i take holidays.

Yeah thought so mate, couldn't quite see it. I've seen a few go in that area. It will be very nice when its done, what are you going to do about the green strips though? Leave them off?
Ford call the scuttle a cowl and it's at least £50 without discount!

Your right, it was the front valance that was about £30.
I dont even own a green stripe, i took it off years ago and sold it to an old regular on the site. The bumpers are being sprayed over again. I think it looks better without the stripe, makes people ask if it is a turbo or not

cant beleive what im looking at i hope mine dont look like that under the body kit!
looking great so far greg, yoiu got guts for going through all this but its worth it if your keeping it for much longer? and it will be as new wont it, should be worth £ quite a bit when finished
the sprayer must be quite keen and have an eye for detail which is required for restoring old cars. Wish i lived closer to scotland he could have done mind if he could be bothered to do this again
goodluck with the remainder of the restore mate

Zetecfiesta : No im not going concourse. With the stupid rules of the RSOC you can not enter your own local show. Thats okay if you live in central england, but i dont
GavStyli : my main reason for doing this is because Ford are not building a new Fiesta RS, so i might as well do it
Skot : now that would be funny! my mates have already talked about getting my T2 turbo into a glass case with a plaque "147,000+ miles and still going"
I popped along today and the back end is a permanent feature of my car now, just got to fiddle with the tailgate. I do have a brand new boot floor, with original Ford sound deadening/material stuff lol

As its my birthday i thought i would pop along to see how the Fezzy is coming along. Some good news some bad .....
Panel joins being smoothed, passenger side is nearly complete ....
All new boot latching panel (note the boot matting is original Ford, so it will be back to what it should look like when sprayed)....
New sill ....
Smoothed door (something original!!....lol) ....
The bad news : rot found in the drivers footwell. It wasnt holes but was getting there, so its cut out and replaced ....
And my poor dash, still with Defi boost gauge fitted. Dont think the magic tree is much use now .....
