Ouch, you'll be hoovering that dash for a while! It'll be so nice to clean all the interior again, get glass back in and see it with paint on the panels again. Glad it's still moving forward at a reasonable pace

Yet another trip to see the Fezzy.
IanFRST, you were right to check. Well it wasnt bad, but a couple of wee bits getting sorted out.
The driver side is on and just about finished....
Oh and complete new chassis legs and front end. These will be welded....
So it really will be a brand new FRST
Please see for sale section for engine parts

its very hard to spot place, even with the carpet out, hence why you need to have a real good look.
now all you need to do when its complete is move down south a bit more where its warmer

Latest update on the restoration....
New footwell....
Engine bay side....
New inner wing....
nice new battery tray as well....
The front end is coming along now. Most of the fiddly bits have been done, so its a case of fitting large Ford parts

I'm liking how they've done that above
Brings back memories of when mine was done
The car will be superb when finished
Might need to pick your brains at some point Greg re the parts in the above post.
Cheers
Dave

Ive been watching this restore thread for some time now. You have literally renewed the whole car, gotta have big balls to do that kinda restore
Its always the passenger side foot well that goes
Ive recently discovered a big hole in mine. Water has been getting in via the bottom of the windscreen. something new
I really admire the amount of time and work and mostly money that has gone into this fiesta. Please don't end up selling it like most people do with there finished projects.
You will want to lock it away in a garage once finished and just let it out for shows for people to drool over ...
Keep those updates coming .....
All the best

adamski frst :GO GREG GO!!!
Go to where ??
Knuckles .... both footwells were repaired as a matter of caution. I only had a very small hole on the passenger side, but the driver side was the dreaded orange colour. So to save having to fix that side 2 - 3 years down the line, its all been cut out and replaced now. Thats been the theme of this restore. It might not be rotten, but if its even looking dodgy, its removed and replaced.

Cheers for the comments guys
Some even better news, finally stripped the rest of my engines bottom end. The bores are absolutley mint and there isnt even a lip on them!! .... not bad for 16yrs old and 148,000 miles. So, im thinking of using my original block and having it worked on, instead of the block i bought.
Must be some truth in doing regular oil changes

Mate please take the dash out and check behind for rot i have stripped a fair few fiestas in my time and most of them had rot showing on the inside of the bulkhead even though the bulkhead looked mint from the engine bay side.
I would hate for you to go to all that expense and trouble only for the bulkhead to go badly after shes been painted and rebuilt.
