Good lad! You should write a letter to Ford aswell, lol.
Looks fantastic mate. Seems to have taken ages to get to this point. At least you can see progress being made now it's all one colour!

Cheers for the replies. Yeah it has taken a long time ( perfection cant be rushed ....lol) and it has taken a LOT of money to get to this point.
This is definitely something to think about .......
a brand new FRST in 1990 was around £12,500, im not that far away from that money in restoring the shell ........ and im not lying.
So undertaking a full restoration, not a patch up job, is not to be done by someone with a tight budget

Loves it, top work and respect to you and the guys who have clearly spent a LOT of time on this in ths garage. The work is stunning.

looking amazing mate. mines hopefully going to get sorted to this standard aswell.
a few questions though.
1. what glue is being used. and are all the outer panels "stuck on"
2. what inner arches are they as you said they weren't quite fiesta mk3 ones
3. what parts have you sealed to stop rust coming back?
and mega respect as everyone else has said.
and my theory is that a genuine rs is worth keeping even if people keep telling me to break it.

what a fantastic job they have done!
I'm looking forward to seeing this one done. Any plans to concours it when it returns? even just for one season? It's certainly capable of picking up some silverware imo...

Beautiful Angus McTurbo!
That looks like a red insert in the rear bumper to me, rather than the empty recess waiting for a greep insert, is that correct?
Why have you fitted the crossmember? You have no engine yet you northern numpty!
That shot down the side of the car is lovely

Thank you all for the great comments, now questions answered......
TonyBlackFRST:
1) Dont know and yes they are
2) Dont know (bodyshop got them), im guessing mk3.5
3) Everything! between all panels there is a line of the glue which acts like a sealent, also, the bodykit is now bonded on to make another seal and ALL inner panels are coated with wax-oyl
Jonezy:
£250 for 5 litres of paint + labour
Chris 2i:
No, i will not be entering concours. Its there to be driven ...... on fine days
Sphinx:
Im not 100% decided on suspension
Sheman:
Thats the green insert been sprayed red. And no i dont have the engine built yet, one thing at a time

jayrs :you painted a green insert red
as always dude, looking spot on.
is it gunna be finished for FITP?
Yeah i know, i should be hung, drawn and quartered for such destruction
I would doubt it will be ready for then. I will be happy if its finished this year, im in no rush and want to do things properly.
Sphinx : nothing changed, as the floor pan was great when the carpet and everything was removed .... well apart from the footwells I had wax-oyl'd underneath years ago, i might do that again at some point.
