New shocks got fitted today :D

off with the koni adjustables.
On with the genuine ford shocks.
The springs are Spax.

Image

Car sits a tad higher now - which pleased me alot because of the daily speed bumps in london.

Image

Image

The car feels nice and soft now compared to the koni's. Its how ford intended the ride to be. I know lowering springs on Standard shocks arent always a perfect match, but for what i use it for on a daily basis. Its much better.

I removed the front strut brace while doing the shocks so it can be power coated gloss black during this coming week.

Knuckles :)

arent strut braces only needed if the chassis flexes with either over 200bhp or track action ive never bothered tbh lower ones enough when i had one saying that i am a cheap female provider of 'horizontal refreshment' so wouldnt spend extra on one

cant do away with it can i now .... otherwise i would have 8 nice holes staring back at me.

hcs pimp - wtf ? bhp has nothing to do with chasis flex... any old car will benifit from a strut brace regardless of power. especially around bends.

for a start i wouldnt never have one, but to answer your question, no i wouldn't put grommets in, i would weld up the holes, grind them back and skim over and make it back as it should be.

you cant/wont do this i know, so the next best thing is grommets.
or leave the strust brace on, but you have said about removing it before

brace is being powder coated then refitted with proper bolts in place of the lame self tappers they give you when you buy the brace....

Torque of the devil appointment is at 9am

What Bhp do you reckon the rebuilt lump will give ? :D
And at what psi ?

Early this morning the Rs finally got the set up its been crying out for since the T3 conversion.

Image

Todd made alot of adjustments on the car and gave it the 1st power run. 122 bhp @ 6 psi
at that point i was not impressed and was praying for a miracle

after another 25 mins of poking around the bay after setting up the turbo the 4th run took place

Image

Very impressed with that out come :D

Image

Image

The printout afterwards.
Turbo running 10 psi.
The setup has got rid of the jerkyness, and erratic idle and made the whole running of the car a million times better with the T3.

Been advised the engine is running lean above 6000 rpm. Uprated pump Required :oooh:

Guess whats on my shopping list now :D

i know

driving around with 122 bhp is alot different to 170 !
I havent been able to give it the beans just yet cos of this constant rain.

The T3 conversion was carried out in november 2007 and finally its running how it should with a rebuilt engine and a Stage 2 T3 :D

I got to keep the revs below 6000 rpm though. Dont wanna melt my mahle pistons just yet :oooh:
