yep standard ofab management - on blues.
Considering getting the blues professionally cleaned, along with the new fuel pump.
then seeing a better power output.

Ive had the overboost protection kick in a few times when flooring it in 4th gear. Code 51 as the ford technicians call it.
very annoying :x

Wish I'd had a guess at the power output now,

JNE was virtually identical in engine spec, peeking at 9psi and made 168bhp on Noble's rollers.

Bet it feels like a different car to drive

Enjoy :aviator:

Few updates on the Rs

Finally had my rear tow eye Replaced ! :D

Image

This is what i had to begin with .....

Image

Up on the Ramps ....

Image

Grinding the old eye off was pretty much straight forward.

Image

Rear box section with eye removed and all rust eliminated... cleaned and prepared for welding on the new eye.

Image

Image

Image

The finished product.
Properly welded on and primed in Red oxide primer. Will give it a few coats of Ford diamond white when i next get a nice hot day. I undersealed the box section this afternoon by brushing it on. Still needs another coat then painting underneath.

with the over boosting now sorted until the colder weather comes back  , i think you should just drive it and enjoy it :Q
as the engine is running perfect now so dont touch it and just dont hold the car above 6000rpm.

the next step powerwise, is a big step as your around the limit of the blues anyway. you might squeeze another 10bhp out of what you have with a 165 chip and fuel pump but not worth it imo...

ps. drive carefully! stop scaring old gits with your new found chatter :P

Not much of an update as such...

Had the Camshaft and hydrolic lifters replaced at work today. Engine has done 3850 miles and has managed to eat 2 cam lobes and ruin 2 tappets. The stage 2 head has had uprated valve springs fitted when it was sent away to cylinder head developments. Which has had a knock on effect on the standard ford cam and tappets.

New standard valve springs have been ordered and i will have to get them in before the weekend before i ruin the 2nd camshaft....

Image

I was asked to order a new rear number plate light so i thought i fit one myself....

Image
Image
Image
Image

They are ever so slightly different - i think its the mk3.5 item as the Mk3 bulb holder struggled to slide in the cover properly. the Bulb holder was £15 so i left that for now

Image

Image

Fitted. :Q
It makes such a difference when lit up at night. The old one was very dingy and discoloured.

I much prefer the standard cam over the kent cvh35 variant. Kent cam made my car run very lumpy and keep stalling when coming to a stop.

Finally !
someone commented on the clear rears lol
i saw them going very cheap on ebay so i snapped them up for £24.
Always fancied just seeing how they would look.

Had them on for just over 2 weeks now. :)
