Re: The Recaro Fiesta
i purchased a rebuilt engine a while back from a member of passion ford which had the work done by kent performance. Upon inspection the engine didnt appear to have everything listed on the invoice from kent performance.
So for my own peace of mind i will be taking it to a engineering specialist pretty soon to get it looked at properly before i put my stage 2 head on it.

Shabby plates really let a car down, its one of those things that really stand out when you fit new ones.

Re: The Recaro Fiesta
Made a few more pocket hurting purchases.
1st of all i took the cvh engine down to a local engineering specialist and they dismantled the block and told me the pistons and rings need replacing. So Ive ordered the mahle 0.5 oversize pistons which come complete with pins and rings. They will be arriving Monday via courier.
2nd of all i picked these up today from a friend who's been holding onto them for me until i had the cash
set of beiges and a ofab 195 superchip.
I'm in two minds atm about using them. I use the Rs as a everyday commuting car and would like to know if fitting these two items along with the T3 would make much difference to the normal driving aspect ?
My original plan was to get the rebuilt cvh in, Run it in then fit the chip and injectors.

those and a slight boost hike will only improve the drivability of the car imho.

Re: The Recaro Fiesta
up to you if you want to fit them, i would advise leaving them out untill the engine is run in then go from there, becuase your need a set up to get fueling all set up after fitting them.
as you know i have the chip and injectors etc and tbh unless booting it all the time, its not much different over standard petrol wise, i only avrage about 190 miles a tank, but bear in mind its a lot of stop start over here and town driving, i got nearly 300 miles out of £35 once when doing motor way driving (tank and a bit) and that did have a sort spell of a bit more than i should of been doing

Re: The Recaro Fiesta - mahle pistons
of all people, your the last person id expect to even think about 195 chip and beiges let alone fit them!
leave it as it is, sort out the engine and if anything, fit a 165 chip to run a tad more boost

Re: The Recaro Fiesta - mahle pistons
as ive already said to you, ive not had any p[roblems with my 195 chip and the set up, yeah its a superchips and the superchips aint the best but ive had no problems.
but also, as i advised you, for what you use the car for, and what you want from the car the fitting of the beige injectors and chips is not what your want

The 195 map is attrocious.
As you probably know, the 165 is just a boost limit remover.

Re: The Recaro Fiesta - mahle pistons
Got the engine back this afternoon. Well chuffed with how quickly he got it bored honed and rebuilt.
Tonight i basically got the stand built back up, and began painting the block ready for the weekend when it gets fitted.
Bores are nice and smooth
First coat of yellow hammerite is on. Tomorrow will do 2nd.
Cant wait to fit the stage 2 head to this badboy and fire it up
New battery tray got its basic white coat today at work. Will be painted again once welded to the car underneath.
