Got the Matching mocal oil pressure guage and the Proper mk3 grey dual guage holder

Image

Looks factory fitted now :Q
Just got to plum in the oil pressure line to the Ford T piece and extend the illumination wires from the clock to the ''A'' pillar.

I had to undo the right hand side of the dash and pull it out slightly to get the air line and oil pipe up to the ''A''pillar. Lots of swearing involved whilst holding a tesco wind up torch

I Purchased a uprated fuel pump from motorsport developments which is the same as the escort Cosworth pump which is good for 350bhp

Should be with me by tomorrow. Now looking for a -31 actuator now as i know that will be needed next if i rolling road it again with the Proper fuel pump.
gonna keep it running Blues for now and see what bhp it can achieve.

Got the 165 chip in and it seems to have removed the boost limit but it wont boost over 11psi :oooh:

Fitted the new fuel pump today with a few problems as usual.

i took the old fuel sender/pump jayrs sold me back when i had a xr2i, removed the ford pump , soldered the new pump wiring connector onto the sender then used heat shrink to seal the joints. Being a aftermarket item it didnt like sitting in place so alot of fidderling later it was ready to fit.

Drove the car on to the 2 poster car ramp and lifted it up. Wd40'd the nuts holding the tank into place , uncliped the fuel pipes at the back then dropped the fuel tank down enough to gain access to the fuel sender. Didnt have a special tool so i gently tapped round the locking ring to release the sender. pulled off the pipes on the top of the sender and got a mouth full of unleaded

replaced the old pump/sender with the new unit and got it back in within 20 mins.
The new pump is so much quieter than the ford item.

What a difference a new pump makes to the normal driving of the Car. Just pulling away and the general running is so much smoother.
Had a little blast on the way home from work and its a completely different car ! it gets to 5000 rpm and wants to keep going :Q
Id advise anyone whos Rs is running a bit rough to fit a new pump. my old pump is 18 years old and was well due to be renewed.

Clark :)

yes certainly a big advantage with the use of a ramp. I would of been going mental laying on my back doing that and wouldnt have any room to manouver the sender in and out.

I only had one hour till they closed and i was just refitting the fuel pump in the tank. Started at 11:45 finished at 12:45 :)

Lush :D

good going mate.

when i done mine it was cold, wet, getting dark and i was laid under the car with hardly any space, i remember it well, as i had the same problem with one bolt as you, and the rachet slipped off as i was hanging on it and i smacked my finger on the rear beam so hard i didnt feel it at first till it started to warm up.
first time ive felt sick from hurting my self, as it was a proper whack too.
not like you in the warm and dry

Ive got the T3 running 15 psi yesterday :D
blanked off the dump valve and it chatters so loud now the actuator is fitted.

Its a animal compared to before i renewed the pump. Thinking of putting the beiges and 195 chip before the rolling road setup

It was 170 bhp last time running 10psi max :oooh:

nothing wrong with the 195 chip, i got one fitted, as long as you get it set up it will be fine, there not plug and play like some people think they are.
and the super chip chips are not as good as others, but i have a superchips chip and its fine

15 psi, bit much really mate, i would knock that down a touch tbh

  , mate when i changed my fuel pump i noticed it, my car was running fairly lean for a month before hand, was peob the most economical FRST going!    even matey at power engineering said and i qoute " how the f**k that engine isnt fcuked i dont know!"
thing is it used to run alright with no tell tell signs, but then again at the time i wasnt really booting it about just normal driving so it didnt require the extra fuel, like yours, but once you know its in there you wanna use it/try it :bonkers:

ive dropped it down to 12 just in case.
