Re: The Recaro Fiesta - broken
Wrong front panel mate, that's a Mk3.5 item with the hole for the bonnet open sesnor and extra punch holes on the rear edge for PAS pipe brackets.
Correct Mk3 versions are definitely still available as I got one a few weeks ago.

The mk3 item is not availible from fords no more.
They supersede to the mk3.5 item which you have spotted. Ive checked this over and over at work in parts dept. Any mk3 items still around are old stock
knuckles :
were do you get the vin plates done as i need a new one for the escort???
vin tags are applied for from your local ford dealer.
You need to fill out a form and have all your documents of the vehicle to hand to take copies of etc.
it costs around £45 to apply for one as well i believe.

My parts guy orders stuff like that in reasonably large quantites so I can cherry pick the right one, then he sends the rest back.
I can have a go at getting you the right one if you like? You're in Walthamstow aren't you? I'm round the corner in Leytonstone.

yea im in billet rd walthamstow.
i have over come the extra hole on the slam panel.
thank you
Mk3.5 alarm switch
Will cut off a 2 pin wiring connector off a scrap wiring loom and rig it up to my current alarm system on the car
That way i dont need to drill a hole in the bodywork to fit an aftermarket switch.
Looks more neater me thinks

if i was that bothered by it i would weld a plate in there , i deffo would not add to the expense of repair by forking out £25 for a bloody switch thats for sure
anyhow, you got a quote from that place yet or do i have to try make room for it somewhere over here?

Re: The Recaro Fiesta - broken
After a long journey yesterday to gloucestershire near south wales. I collected 2 new purchases one of which was my new genuine mk3 N/S/R quarter. A ebay steal at £49.99
Happy days
cant wait to begine stripping the car ready for the bodyshop to get started. Debating whether to completly strip the car or just remove what needed to do the repair job. Really havent got the motorvation to remove the new engine as it only went in february 2009

Re: The Recaro Fiesta - broken
I was like that with the Ghia mate, and also an Si I'm part restoring at the mo. I get out to the garage and before I start I think 'I really CBA to go as far in some areas', because I don't need to but, when it's all back together, it's definitely worth it!

Re: The Recaro Fiesta - broken
Thanks for the replies fellas
I would love to go the whole hog and strip the complete car etc and get it completly restored while its in the bodyshop.
My biggest problem atm is storage space. As i dont have anywhere to keep it off the road to work on the car. Im hoping to strip it in a friends garage then get it trailered to dorset to have the bodywork sorted.
Then once its done get it trailered home to rebuild her keeping the bodyshop bill down.
it may miss FITP
