knuckles :It mounts to the mk3 exactly the same.
The only issue is the mk3 handbrake cable doesn't fit correctly into the zetec s drums.
So a spacer is needed or a few washers.

I don't think the mk3 drums fit mk5 beam.

Cheers fella, is there any particular year of ZS which is best to whip the beam from?

Where have you been the last ten years :P

It just bolts on mate. Fit Focus discs or keep the ZS drums & adapt your handbrake cable - it really is easy!

yea they both use more or less identical bottom mounts, :) lord knows why, but ford seemed to want to try out a fork design in the beam when they made the mk4, ut then decided against it when the mk5 launched

Yeah I have been lol I wanted to get a bit more done before Christmas but time just ran out with other things to do and it's been dilly cold since :(
I know if I go out there now temp in the workshop will be about 2 degrees and the heaters will prob get it up to about 12 and I wouldn't be happy painting in that temp.

Ill see how it goes over next couple weeks but I do wanna get in this ASAP as I wanna get it done then the xr2 can be started on lol

Wayne, got a feeling the 3.5 cable is different to the mk3 but I can't honestly remember, but we have sorted the issue with that now, if I remember rightly

I was going to say +1 for the Mk3.5 handbrake cable fitting the Mk5 rear drums without a problem, as I did this on My Mk3.5 years ago.

Just a thought though - Does a Mk3.5 handbrake cable fit a Mk3 at the other end? I know there is some difference in the floor pans and the handbrake lever is slightly different?

I'm not saying that it wont fit - just that there may be a difference at that end too?
