Thinking of doing a 40mm drop but..

Postby McGoo 69 on Thu Jul 27, 2006 5:39 pm

Hi peeps.

Im thinking of doing a 40mm drop to my Si but my dad has just bought new rear shocks as my old ones were leaking so i needed them to get it through its mot.

I was wondering if i fitted 40mm springs would the springs rattle if my fiesta bounced up? If that makes sence lol

Basicly i dont know how the 40mm springs will be fitted onto the shock without them being loose??

-40mm springs on standard shocks should be fine and not become loose or dislodged when the shock absorber is at its maximum travel upwards

On new shock you should be ok although 40mm is a bit lower than I would personally like to see.

New stock shocks at stock height

Same shocks with 55mm springs in (Just to give an idea).

30mm is about as low as I would like to go on stock shocks, in fact it's about as low as I would want to go full stop. Mines only as low as it is as that was what I had in the spares box. Once I finish the S2 I will be going with a 25mm drop on Koni shocks
