Thoughts...??

Postby DannyBoy18 on Mon Sep 10, 2007 4:47 pm

At the moment I have a standard ford stereo - standard front speakers and 6 x 9's in the back...

I have the chance to get an xplod sub for £40 - firstly is this a good deal, and what are thoughts on the xplod subs?

secondly.. if i did buy the sub, how do you suggest i set up the system? I'm assuming that i will need a different stereo itself with specific control towards the sub? and thoughts on amping the sub, the 6 x 9's?

Help would be appreciated. Thankyou in advance!

My honest advice would be to first sort a proper headunit out as factory units are worse than poor. The sub you've been offered isn't great but it will make a bit of noise and will be better than nothing so if it's cheap fo for it. Get yourself some good component speakers for the front and a 4 channel amp. run the front speakers off the amp and bridge the remaining channels to run your sub. Either run the 6x9's off the headunit or better still get rid of them completely

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
