hi just wondering if anyone has put throttle bodies on an xr2i.just thinking about a few options anybody with any info on doing it to a 1.6 8v let me know what would need changing?can it be done?would it be any good?power figures?price?

any info would be appreciated.

Yes it can be done to the XR2i, I had them on my Orion when it had is old 1.6EFI engine the same as the XR2i.
The good thing is that you don't have to change much, knowone does a kit for the CVH but they do do one for a zetec that will fit but the only thing you need to change in the kit is the inlet manifold and would be looking at 25bhp gain and more with head and cam work but the only problm is the price at £1800+ for kits.
Now driving a 1999 Audi S3 with 2.1 20v OD HTAGT3582r Turbo

i ment quite a bit of money.worth considering though dont wana go engine transplant as i quite facny seeing what power i can get out of an xr2i we shall see just thinking of a few ideas at the mo cheers matey fort he advice

probably easier to ditch the efi, blank off the fuel reg take off and fit some 40s, much much cheaper than throttle bodies and will give practically the same out put

leave throttle bodies for a zetec ;)

yeh was thinking the same i would love that engine in my fez.
would abe a lot of trouble to fit though cheers for all your info and advice might have to get rid of my car soon though due to certain circumstances but hoepfully not.

we shall see.
