Throttle body question.

Postby MikeyXR2i on Mon Oct 20, 2003 5:05 pm

Hi peeps, a mate of mine has had a 1600 zetec escort for about 4 years. Since he's had it, he's nagged nagged and nagged me to do something about the lack of power. Now,, ive checked the throttle body out and its the crappy small one, that lets hardly any air in, i was thinking of grabbing one off a 2.0 litre mondeo. What i need to know is, is this item a straight swap? also is the multiplug wiring all the same?

Thanks peeps

Regards Mike.

I can vaguely remember something about an RS1800 throttle body being a straight swap for the 1.8 XR2i 16V throttle body. Somebody on here must know of something to do with the 1.6 Zetec.

TBH though it's only a 1.6 so it's not worth spending loads on tuning. Y not drop a 2L in their?
