Throttle Bodys

Postby purple_fiesta on Wed Nov 16, 2005 8:06 pm

Ive been looking at throttle bodys for my zetec engine when I get it, Burton power sells kits but there priced at around 2grand! What other options is there to running a throttle body set up other than buying a kit? I could spend up to 800 but 2000 is abit pricey at the moment!

I would imagine the Burton kit comes with some kind of ECU package as well by the sounds of it. You could buy the basic mechanicals of the conversion, and then use Megasquirt for the management side of it. Im not 100% on this as ive not had any dealings with it as such, but it would appear to be quite a universal system that can be adapted for most uses. Best person to speak to about it is Asad i do believe. :)

thats a good deal i've been looking at lately, i know its still not cheap, but better than burton's prices

i remember seeing an ad for speedshack offering the full kit second hand for a grand

could adapt a set of throttle bodies from a big motorbike, eg GSXR1000, ZX12R etc, this is getting a lot more common nowadays
