track rod ends
not a hard job are they just undo the large nut at end then nut at the bottom and remove them and twist off the threads
but do you need a split pin to go back in after , just wondering as sometimes its an mot requirement and possibly safety issue too?

Re: track rod ends
if it had split pins to start with then you must refit them unless the new trackrod ends came with nylock nuts which replace the castle nut and split pins doesnt matter if it's an mot failier or not loosing your steering at speed would not be good and for the sake of a 1p split pin

No the nylon in the nut stops it coming undone some people don't trust them and still fit the castle nut with split pin but its personal choice the only thing i will say about the nylock nuts is if you remove it at anypoint then you must change it thus why the castle nut is easier as your only changing the split pin each time.
