Track/Show Car Insurance
Hiya guys,
We are looking into buying a Fiesta RS Turbo as a show car and also somethin we can use on the track.
It would literally be purposly for those and then taken out every so often for a run.
So what kind of insurance are we lookin at to keep the cost right down?
And any recomendations on companys?
The car will be garaged while it is not in use, but we do need insurance which will allows us to take it out just for a run.
Thanks in advance

LOL
Got your PM's
Personally - I don't bother, waste of money in my circumstances. My car is not road legal (well it can be, but currently paper wise, it's not ) and it gets trailered to the track. Premium would probably be more than value of car anyway. Also, everyone signs a disclaimer so if you have a bump - tough schit anyway!
But...........
I can offer some, although little, advice on the matter.
However, before i start, IIRC it might be worth knowing that most (track) insurance policies will probably only cover you for 3rd party on track, ie it'll only cover you for damage to another car etc.
As far as insurance companies go, i used to have my Subaru's insured with Liverpool & Victoria
liv & vic
I do recall that my/their policy does not state that track use is excluded, therefore your covered - hard to believe but i eventually got it confirmed in black and white. Might be worth giving them a call and ask. BTW, before you do, i do remember that you had to be over 25. I did get a quote for the fez a while back, £350 FC (31, full NCB) i think, but i never took it out (see present location )
I would suggest a search on t'internet, have a look at easytrack and such track day companies - they will usually receommend or give links to track day insurance companies.
One last note - whilst i've not been insured (on track, not road) i've tended to have driven more cautiously, especially the Ring trip in my STi5 that i <cough> didn't do LOL.
Hope this helps
Chris
