Re: traction control kits
launch control would not easily be retrofitted to another car, often it is the ECU or another ECU that controls the ABS and limits the power that the engine is developing by controlling the fueling and the spark of the engine no matter how much throttle is applied.
Armtech or omex (basically same people) do lauch control kits that can be added onto their range of rev limiters and speed shift systems, i have got one but it is still sat on top of my wardrobe in the box waiting for the car to be put back together. Heeman10 has got an omex unit in his, he is poss the best person to ask about it. Launch control only does exactly that tho, limits the revs when the car is being launched so offers some help to gain traction off the line but none in helping to prevent loosing traction when in normal driving unlike traction control so really the two are completely different things and can not really be compaired.
Basically tho the best and cheapest option for a form of traction control is to buy yourself a quaife ATB, these are briliant and aid traction in corners and off the line no end, and alot cheaper and easier to fit than trying to wire in traction control!

Re: traction control kits
http://www.racelogic.co.uk take a look on there, i was thinking of having it fitted to mine, it works out at about £1,000 for the full kit, with all sensors n that launch control. but then u gotta have it fitted. it would be worth it though.

Re: traction control kits
get megasquirt
has launch control and im sure it has traction control.
i think youll find to fit it to your car you will need to fit abs, but if you do fit it all you can have cruise control aswell however some fords use a servo between the throttle cable which just extends/slackens the throttle cable to close it even if your pedal is to the floor and it senses the spin via the abs trigger wheel built into the hub.
ide say im 99% sure MS has the ability to read from the abs and control the servo.. did fiestas not have some s**t belt setup on the abs? if you can read wheel speed and control throttle with a servo then you can do it with ms.
looked into all this stuff before.. i got a ford traction control button for sale if you need it
and you can get ms for around 300 with all the goodies, progressive nitrous too
you could say im pro megasquirt

if youve looked into it before then surely you know where to obtain it from.. if you want to read a 'guide' you need to goto http://www.megasquirt.info
this is a fiesta forum.. if we dedicated just one guide to megasquirt, it would be a megasquirt forum.. youll understand when you see how much information there is regarding megasquirt.
i would advise you learn about electronic fuel injection first.. then see how megasquirt suits your application as an alternative to stock efi.
