Re: TreColl's Mk4!
Around £350 total.
But that includes un-used parts and parts that area neccesity but will look nice when I get them running (OBDII scanner, mainly )
I ended up buying two motherboards for it after having problems with my first one. I also bought a metal case to protect it a bit more.

Re: TreColl's Mk4!
Yeah you could use that.
Youll need a screen (obviously!) some form of input device (touchscreen in my case)
A 12v DC-DC PSU (easier if it has a shutdown controller too) - I bought an M2-ATX from linitx.com

Re: TreColl's Mk4!
I put the stickers on the wheels today
Found the problem with screen (yes, I need to solder properly lol).
Also fixed my leccy windows (were popping fuses when I changed the leds to red)
Cleared the car and boot out ready to start wiring the amp to the actual door speakers and eventually my sub. God I miss that!

Re: TreColl's Mk4!
Videos of the pc in action.
First is just one from the other night when I was parked up as arrived at something early.
The other is from just a few moments ago showing the whole boot process too.
In this one, When the clock lights up, thats when the ignition is on. The whining you here a second after the bios screen is the doors locking
And yes, I forgot I changed the pin code from the default to the one I actually wanted
Also, only just started playing with the virtual cd player and playlists so not too sure why the V-CD of prodigy didnt want to play...
Im sure you love it anyways
Oh and yeah, I know the mouse is out of sync, and it takes forever to boot atm!
Oh and was only taken on my phone so not brilliant quality.

Re: TreColl's Mk4!
Not lowering springs ..... But
After a bit of this:
And this:
...My mate Ben, heating up the nuts that just refused to come undone
Also, using the garage where he works' ramp so its easier than doing it on axle stands, hence waiting till today
I got this:
Litterally, just got back and wow! I was told, 'you wont find a nicer sounding 1.25' and I agree!
Havent got many photos yet, but will take some later (cars dirty again now )
Anywhoooo

Re: TreColl's Mk4!
Have you thought about Centrafuse front-end software for the car-PC? http://www.fluxmedia.net/Default.aspx
They have a fantastic navigation frontend that you can combine with a GPS reciever. I was well impressed with the trial on a tablet PC I had the use of.
Also, keep an eye out for Ubuntu Mobile - could be interesting

Re: TreColl's Mk4!
Today, I drove to Newmarket, Sulfolk and spent £170. I bought my birthday present to myself
So I eventually got home (after sitting in traffic for ages) and started stripping the inside of my car apart.
By the time I had everything I wanted out, It looked like this....
Whilst I had it like this I thought I quickly check the floor, so pulled back the crappy deadening and found....
...A nice solid floor! (Sorry Jony!)
Next it was time to start putting it all back together, starting with...
A black carpet!
Then I fitted the late MK4/MK5 centre console that had been in my boot for aagess!
Then refitted the sill trims and rear door cards
That only really left one thing, The front seats...
So in they went.....
... Oh wait....
... Are they....
... Yes! Leather Recaro's!
For those that dont know, these are out the 'Millenium' edition of the Puma, the Yellow one!! Worth around £4-500 in similar sort of nick as these, I consider these to be my 'eBay bargain of 2009!'
Go on.... Congratulate me
