However, you'll notice that one of them is missing a set of pads.... They should be with on tuesday.

I should then be able to get the brakes on next saturday with any luck.

Brakes will be done in two weekends time, just haven't got time at the moment..

However, I need to speak to wayne I think, or anyone for that matter.

I want to defilter my rear lights, so bought some LED bulbs on autobulbsdirect.

There website says that my brake lights and rear indictors are 382s
Fine, so I bought 382s and indicators comes with resistors..

swapped the brake lights over and they dont light up...
noticed the indicators were 343's, but they are the same size and shape etc, so fitted them but they dont work either :x

Brake lights work in the fog light hole (which currently has an LED bulb in it, a 382...

Any advice?

Yeah oposite pins...

Just replaced a blown bulb with a standard 382 and it works!?

One thing I have noticed though is that when my bulbs blow (brake lights only, and quite often tbh) they go creamy inside!? :-?

Ok so yesterday I built my new false floor and put my new sub & amp in :D

Not finished yet and need to make another piece for the back, but will probs do that next weekend and carpet it too...
Image

This is the extra bit that I need to make;
Image

Now, its not bedded in yet, got another 9.5hours of playback before it is!
However, I turned the volume up to 30% with The Prodigy - Voodoo People (Pendulam Remix) playing...

It vibrates soo fast the camera cant keep up, hence the rippling effect!
Image

I then found the only real use for scotchlocks!! Video is made on my phone so it sounds crap, you may wanna turn your speakers down for this one too!!
Image

:D I love it!!

Indeed, cheers again :D

Only 7.5 hours left before I can set it up properly

Oh and i've found out the reason why the LED bulbs dont work...
The car is reverse polarized :x Meaning the bayonet bit which would normally be an earth is power and bit at the bottom is the earth :o Seems to be the way it would normally be in a mk4/5 too :-? Have ordered some Silvertec red bulbs though.

I found the reason why my O/S brake light bulb blows every week  The filter is melted slightly and so when the bulb is in the filter (really hot!) is in constant contact with one piece of the glass on the outside of the bulb and so heats that spot up quicker. As a result the glass gets a pressurised crack in that place and blows (leaving a creamy residue inside! - Pics to follow!)

I tried making some last night, but gave up! :P

Asked Tweek if he knew anywhere, but he didn't actually answer that question, just asked about something else I said at the same time

I did a quick search myself but couldn't find any.

If you get a chance, could you test to see if your base plates are reversed for me? :D

Carpeted my false floor today...
Couldn't be bothered to make the other bit yet, but theres no rush for that...

Image
Image

Then decided to de-filter my MHWs (Well, the brake lights anyways...)

Since fitting, I have had a problem with them blowing the O/S Brake light which has been getting steadily worse so I have recently left it blown with a spare for the off chance I got pulled for it...

This was the cause, a previous owner had caused the filter to slightly melt, and the filter was concentrating heat into one area on the glass of the bulb, causing a minor brake, but enough to blow the bulb.

I de-filtered them by melting them. It was suggested by Shifty_Babe to use a soldering iron, but she told me she burnt herself a few times! So I used a lighter and am pleased to say, I didn't burn myself!!

The melts in the filters...

Will try and get some indicator chrome bulbs soon and do the same for them, or maybe even Diadems. Will see though...

Heres what I've been doing today.
Forgot to get a pic of when I first picked it up, but the bottom half was already smoothed.

Image

What isn't so clear in that picture is that I have started bonding the rub strip onto the bumper. Some people use Fibre Glass to do this, IMO it will crack. Plastic welding is what should be done. However, I couldn't be botherd to pay someone, nor mess up my only tip for my soldering iron. So I used the next best thing, Epoxy!

Image

Whilst waiting the hour for it to cure so I could add more, followed by filler, I played with my two border collie pups :D

Image

And how it looked just a few moments ago when I put it away for tonight...

Image

Before anyone asks, my old bumper (mk4 one) is prov. sold to mtbdean ;)
