Missed a few of the small updates, but its just about making the fog lights fit. They didn't, so I got some driving lights instead

Here they are, as promised!!

Ok, so lets go back to friday...

I finished making the brackets for the spot lights.
Image
Image

And resprayed the black section...
Image
Image

Also I sprayed the meshing satin black
Image
Image

So, Saturday arrived, and eventually I managed to get the bumper off (one of the nuts is a different size!!)

Anyways, I marked out where I needed to cut, test fitting as I went along. Heres what was cut out
Image

Unfortunately, despite all the marking and trial fitting, the curse of dean kicked in and I overcut, very slightly
Image

So anyway, I just got on with it and tigersealed it in place...
Image
Image

In an attempt to fix the slight mistake, I decided to just smooth the whole thing in...
Image
Image
Image

Whilst waiting for the filler to dry I come up with an idea, just needs a small plate I reckon...
Image
Will do a photoshop a bit later maybe...

As I mentioned before, the car has had a small knock on the front before... So I removed the rust using the ever better hammerrite rust removal gel and primed up the areas.
Image

Also this was for some reason on the crossmember too, was actually covered in surface rust, but it cleaned up well... (this was just before the last coat of the gel)
Image

Anyways, on Monday I had to get the bumper back on as I ran of materials so had to pop to halfords anyways...
30-40 minutes later, the bumper was back on, albeit in miserable state :(
Image

So popped down to halfords like that

And how it was just as I finished for the day, its not all completely smooth, but I can't be arsed with it at the moment
I also need to touch up around the light recesses too, but thats not an issue. I'll also fit the spots later too :D

I've had the stripes sitting on my window sill for nearly two years! They are going on!!!

I'm going to do my alloys either Panther Black or Satin.

Thank you :)

The front still isn't sitting as low as the rear, if it still sits high once the puma lump is in (can't remember the weight differences though) then I'll probably cut a coil off of each spring...

Oh and thanks Ben and Rat too ;) :)

Didnt think I would but I now really like that splitter. Looks loads better now its actually fitted.

But I agree it does look high. I hop the puma lump brings it down. But TBH I dont think it will much. And please dont cut the coil's.
I hate cut springs :x
Just spend the money and do it right. Not having a go I just hate cut springs.

I would cut the right way ;) Theres a right way and a wrong way, and for one coil even the wrong way isn't soo bad.

Anyways, I'm not going into that debate.

tbh, id of cut it in this case too, justone or two,

the front and rear coils on these mk4's are straight coils all the way down, so it wont upset how it sits

Well, I sobered up abit on sunday and spend 5.5 hours cleaning my car, including a nice polish :)

I used some G3 on the rear bumper and where the doorstripes were, before doing the rest of the car with AG SRP. Only thing I haven't polished is the front bumper due to it being new paint and me needing to do a bit more work on it!

Also I haven't dressed the tyres as I want to start refurbing the wheels asap now.

Looks good, only thoughts are

-Espace splitter would look good with that bumper
-Front needs to come down another 10-20mm
-Tyre profile looks a little large

Coming on nicely though, you going to be at fitp?

Yep, will be going to 45's once the wheels are refurbed :)

Thanks and yes.

Thanks to everyone else also.

As jony said, I've never been too fussed about the spoiler for some reason. I'm looking for a new tailgate (already smoothed) with one at some point though...

I just feel that modified cars without the spoilers look "unfinished". They always look as though there is something missing. The Zetec spoiler will compliment the car very well - you may not care about it now but once it is on you'll think "How did I ever last so long without one".

Nathuk88 :i feel ur new rear bench and stunning temp wheels are worthy of an update :D

I have a new rear bench which isn't in and am rolling on temporary 15" steelies. No pics though, they really dont suit the car.

I had the tyres taken off my alloys and put onto the steels. So I started refurbing the alloys...

One alloy I had to rub paint right through the mercury grey paint as it was that bad!

However, whilst doing so, I found the original O.Z markings on the faces, which I'll get remade in red :D

Revealed....

The insides are going Satin Black with the faces going in Panther Black. I'm not taking any pictures out in the sunlight, you can wait to see that once their done :nakkal:

Ok, time for the wheely good update!! ( )

Anywho.
All four alloys now have their insides painted satin black.
All four alloys have had their faces scrubbed and are ready for colour to be added (allbeit black :P )
Two alloys have had their faces painted (no, not like lions or spiderman, just plain black, the racist fuckers!)
One alloy has had one coat of laquer.

Thats the current stage; a couple of pics to go with:

Image
The two on top of each other are the two with only the insides done, incase you didn't guess :nakkal:

And a close up of the one that has had one coat of laquer... Sparkles!!
