It was a summer holiday beard actually

I did get back to it on Saturday, albeit in between heavy thunderstorms

I started by treating the surface rust areas in the front of the drivers footwell
Image

Unfortunately one of them became a hole...
Image

I then painted the rear centre section of floor... I took the handbrake out to paint.
Image

Covered the treated rust in paint...
Image

And that was all I actually got done as I ran out of paint.

Here's another picture of the passenger footwell, shows the size of the hole!
Image

I got back to it yesterday as well, but had little time, so all I managed to do was remove both sections of sound deadening from the drivers footwell. But I forgot to take any pictures. Need to get more paint, then I'll go back either tonight or tomorrow. Depending on the weather.

why are you still painting? sort the rust out first lol

your only going to damage the paint and then need to repaint anyway after the welding...

Because I don't want to take the seats back out.
I don't have access to a welder.
MOT is in May, it'll be done for then, not before.

Stop being lazy,
Rent a welder,
If police or vosa pull you, they will see the holes and make you have an mot before you can use it on the road.

Not round my way it won't ;)
Nothing a bit of duct tape won't fix temporarily, it'll be done when I get insured on it and get it to the garage where I can weld it..

The drivers seat is a pita to fit, cause of the welding that's already been done on the rear mount. So not lazy, per say lol. Okay, yeah it is, but meh.

I know your not Matt. I know what your saying, and it will get sorted when I start using it properly, just where it is at the moment it's not an option.

My "not round my way it won't"
Was to jony's "being a track car, blah blah blah...."

Yesterday saw the drivers footwell completely painted and the seat went back in (this side is a PITA due to the welding on the rear mount!)

Image
And the seat back in

And I had a play in Photoshop CS6, picture was only from my phone, so not a good base. Will take the dSLR to the car one day...

Yeah boiii! Driven 65 miles in it since last night, used £30 of petrol :D

Needs a new petrol cap though, this ones a bit stiff and it smells like the seal has gone... (as in I can smell fuel on right hand bends, not I can smell the rubber has perished  )

Castle Combe tomorrow, videos on Monday/Tuesday probably, HD too :D

I don't really care about yours jony. Stop going round comparing everything everyone says to your own car.
Yours is completely different so its an irrelevant comparison, that and you know no details of how I was driving for thoses 65 miles or what sort of journey they were.

Had an eventful day at Combe yesterday, will update properly tomorrow.

Sent from my phone - one handed operation!! Lol

Right, so eventful weekend for me!

05:00 start to head for Combe.

Passed sound check fine, managed to buy two sessions (so, 30 minutes) of track time.

Unfortunately, I only used 6. Here is why;

I managed to get the car back off the track, unfortunately the NSF tyre had popped off the rim. Like so;

Image

I was a little annoyed at the fact that I'd broken my new car and ended taking a trip to the medical center... This is why...

Image

Yes, that reads "Crashed car at race track then punched a tree"

Image
Image

Not broken, so all's good :)

The FiestaTurbo/Shaboygan Racing pit crew jumped in and lifted the car onto the jack and fitted me with a spare wheel (only fitted on rear though  )
Thanks again guys!!
Image
Image

We could see stress marks on the inner sidewall of the tyre, so thought it was best to change the tyre. So Chris took me to the local tyre place (again, thanks!) and I forked out £87 on a new 195/45R16 Goodyear Eagle F1.

And again, the FT/SB crew kicked into work and put it back on for me! :D
Image
Image

Still cleaned abit of the car though
Image
Image

The car drove home absolutely fine, so it seems no major damage has been done, which is a relief. That wasn't the end of my problems though!!!!

I went to fill up with petrol on Sunday... Queued for the petrol station, got to the pump and the key was just spinning in the petrol cap!
Drove home running on fumes, and sprayed as much WD40 into the lock as I could! Managed to the cap off, but then when trying to free it up some more, I sort of accidentally locked it shut whilst off of the car. It then refused to open again!

I have ordered a replacement and managed to find a temporary cap that fits. So not such a biggy. I ordered an aftermarket replacement as it's a heck of a lot cheaper than Ford's £68!!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250852024651?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_2817wt_1186

For anyone who needs a new cap! It's the same as what a friend has in her MK4, so I know they work fine :)
