Re: TreColl's MK5 ZS Track female provider of 'horizontal refres
I'd be inclined to say you still had some dampness or grass on your tyres from avoiding the Clio which caused the grip loss, having watched the video a couple of times.
Hope I didn't hold you up too much! I could see you right behind me for most of the session.
Up until the spin though you were going really well, brown trousers moment when the car went onto two wheels though
By the way, I can't stress how awesome the medical note is. That's the stuff of legend, tbh.

Re: TreColl's MK5 ZS Track female provider of 'horizontal refres
I was thinking that throughout the day tbh.
But having watched the previous lap side by side, I'm pretty sure my line and speed was off.
If you watch as I go over avon rise / into quarry on the same lap, it twitches slightly then too, but caught that. So maybe I had started to pick up too much speed for the car anyway.
Also, maybe me just being paranoid, but I'm pretty sure I've heard (before and after the accident) a knocking from the N/S/R, so will have to check it just to be 100% happy. Sarah is pretty sure she heard it too. It's only over really big bumps!
Medical report is just awesome

Knocking on the rear in my old MK5 were the shocks, but could be the top rubber bushes

Shame your track time ended how it did, looked like you were going so well till then. Fortunately it was only the tyre that needed sorting to get you home.
Im pretty sure i got a few pics of it, ill sort through them on my day off tomorrow

That looked so unlucky, Agree with the statement above about grass on your wheels though as there didn't seem to be any other reason to spin out like you did.
Loving the car too, looks great =)

Seein' as it be International Talk Like a Pirate Day, here be me latest update - in pirate talk! (Translation below in small print.)
I had an epic weekend! I helped two buckos move off t' uni. One t' Farnham, and t' other York!
6.30am port for York on Saturday, topped up with oil when I got thar, port an hour later and home by 7pm!! Was slow on t' way up as I was followin' someone in a van, but took t' A1(M) by meself on t' way home. I was aft a good hour and half before they were
Farnham, again I was aft an hour before t' other person was! Although that’s a much shorter journey!
All in, just at t' weekend, I covered near enough 600 miles with t' car behavin' perfectly. T' only thin' is, I still find it difficult t' trust at speed through starboard handers. I guess I be paranoid!
All this made t' car filthy! So last night I treated it t' it's first wash. Just a quickie mind!
It started this filthy - poor flies!
But ended up like this;
Got a bit trigger happy. Found out t' number plates be already just velcro'd on, so that was handy!
Also took this, through t' windscreen so you can see t' seats. In hind sight, I probably should have straightened t' harnesses though
I have bought an Oil Presaye Guage and an Oil Temperature Guage. Both o' which I will wire up at some point. They be electric, so no oil lines in t' car!

I got some paint on the rear section. Previous owner painted in the boot in underseal, so I need to remove that first before I can paint properly
A present arrived from Layne Woomes. Isn't fully wired in yet, and I bought it cheap as he suspects the unit is faulty. Will find out soon enough...

The potentially faulty Omex is fully wired in and works fine Flamez!!!!1!!!1
Stripped off the underseal from the O/S arch. Took a little while.
and then painted it up, along with a bit in the front.
As you can see, I was lazy and didn't remove the strut brace. I will when I clear the other side and touch up around it. It needs a respray too!

Re: TreColl's MK5 ZS Daily Track female provider of 'horizontal
Had a lot of time on this at the weekend. Decided to press on rather than keep stopping to take pictures.
Started by cleaning up the O/S rear strut...
and painted it and the floor under where the rear seats were...
Wasn't too sure how to remove the wax in the inner arch/quarter, So painted straight over it! Looks like it'll be alright, nothing will be touching it, so meh!
I then moved onto fitting a little something that'll receive mixed reviews
With the wipers up...
And inside...
I fitted this a while ago to the rear window, they were free on the day and handed out in abundance
Then used my other one to make something a bit different...
And when the sun shines through the strip...
(I'm aware the text ain't straight, meh.)
Finally, I found this inside my headlight. Appeared over the past week, as it wasn't there when I washed it!
A daddy long legs! f**k knows how it got in!?

Oh yeah, what should I be using to hold my rear strut brace in place?
It was just wedged in when I got the car, so I put it the right way up and used self tapers from other trim pieces, but I'm sure something else would be better?

Only way I can think of, is through the bulb holder area. I don't have the covers on (weren't there when I got the car) so it's an open space. Still doesn't make much sense though

Re: TreColl's MK5 ZS Daily Track female provider of 'horizontal
A lot people on ZSOC use self tappers to bolt in the rear strut brace... a better option would be rivnuts. With self tappers the brace would just fly off if you was in a rear end impact - the screws would snap.
But its up to you what you use to be honest

yh mine had the proper self tappers but i found that they were sometimes they wouldn't really sit right because of the cup at the top of the suspension on the other side
