Trip to the 'Ring
Morning all,
Thought I'd write up a little about my trip to the 'ring this year. First time I've been - and definitely won't be the last! Loads of photos here, and many more on my Flickr page:

Early start to catch the ferry in time - mystical fog in Dunkirk (Kent) at 04:20am!
Hello, fellow ferry!

Over the halfway point, can no longer see Dover!
Not many photos through the continent, as I was driving! However, after attempting to stop in Holland for some traditional food, we actually ended up at KFC...!

Then hit the autobahns in Germany. Great opportunity to open the taps on the Fiesta - or so I thought!

But, finally through the traffic, we arrived at the apartment we'd be staying in.

It's difficult to describe the area in which the 'ring sits. You have rolling hills, forests, open land, and the track has an elevation difference of a thousand feet!
I tried to capture the thickness of this wood but it really didn't come out very well in photos...

Mark, in his daily driver, managed to completely burn through his brake pads right down to the metal - so Monday morning - with 9 hours until we had to catch the ferry, we had to make an emergency pit stop at 'Special Brakes'.
