Brakes are looking good mate! :aviator:

Did you have to mod anything to fit them or was it just a straight swap?

it depends on the wheels you have really. mine have different angled spoke due to the type of wheel so i need to space them out at the moment. but i am trying to shave the caipers to fit

Slight update
brakes are now fully bedded in and are brilliant, so glad i did them. they were on nearly 3 weeks whilst i decided what colour to do them were a few varying opinons but thought i would try and be different, so here they are.

Image
Image
:Q
they are in flourescent orange. and they stand out really well and have only had good comments so far. i love the colour of it just thinking now about possibly doing some other small bits of the car in the same colour possibly.

what u think?

have also bought a set of harnesses as well will get some pics this week when they are fitted

Toby, as i said to you at Thorpe doing other bits in flouresent would look good, but you would only get away with doing certain bits. :)

Instead of the entire mirror base plate being orange which I think would be too much, keep it black (maybe even smooth it and paint it satin black) but put a orange pin stripe around the edge of the mirror base plate; a 3-5mm pin stripe set about 3-5mm in from the very edge of the base plate.

im thinking of painting the base plates satin black, probably not the whole thing.
as regards to the pinstripe so almost like a triangle all the way round it

I did only mean painting the base plate satin black, nothing else
But yeah, the stripe just keeps the orange theme going but not too in-your-face.

I think it will start to look tacky if you do anything else in that orange

The rear needs to come down another 10mm too :aviator:

Postby Minstral on Wed Aug 12, 2009 9:18 pm

as some of you will have seen at ford fair i have a new addition to front bumper in the shape of a splitter.
its a mk3 golf cl splitter. ive not seen it done before which is what i wanted to do and i think it looks great, so even better. ive already had loads of people wanting to know what its off, plus makes it lower at the front :D scrappage :bonkers:

i took a few pics from santa pod when i had topark on the grass :Q
Image
Image
i think it suits it really well and is sort of like the cossie splitter the way it sits

also i have a set of 4 point Luke harnesses in as well no pics as of yet. i wanted a set of mirrors all painted up for ford fair but the painters mucked it up big time so should have them back by end of the week as well. and ive just picked up a bargain on ebay so watch this space

also some people didnt believe that i had it written on my car but their you go, spot the cheeky sticker
