tuning 1.25i freestyle

Postby passey on Fri Oct 19, 2007 9:17 pm

i currently have a 1.25i freestyle mk5.
i have upgraded the alloys to 15"'s
i have around £500 to spend on the car. not bothered abotu the looks want better acceleration rather than a better top end.

i was looking at getting an induction kit and a new exhaust.

any recommendations on what ones i should get and what i should stay away from.

also any other recomendations would be brilliant

There really is no point on this engine I'm afraid. Bung a back box on and a filter but stop there any further work will cost a lot of money for no gain. Best way of improving performance is to loose weight so start to rethink that planned ICE install and look at what you can lose.

Put the money towards a Puma conversion... Will be the best value-for-money :)

think I said this to you on Streetrace, there really is no point, just save your money for a faster car......... but if you want nice sounding, the usual, exhaust and filter but nothing else

Im assuming your a young driver that can only get insured on a little engined car? Otherwise, £500 would buy you a semi decent beefy engined car that would be faster than the 1.25 fiesta.

Save the money until you have some NCB. If you really want something for the fiesta, get a suspension kit so at least it handles nicely.

Get a decent backbox(Magnex/Scorpion/Mongoose etc.) or a full cat back system if you really want one

Panel filter that fits in your existing airbox or a cone filter

Upgrade your springs (get a 30 or 35mm lowering kit), and your dampers if they need replacing

Fit front and rear Anti Roll Bars
